La Grande Cina — Restaurant in Venice

First, the food is good. It's worth trying for sure. However, completely unable to be nice or speak English, the Lady is very scary. I was with my son. I have not received any answers to any of my questions. In the distance there was probably a family sitting and looking at us as if we were from another world. Weird atmosphere. I understand why it's empty even though as I mentioned the food is good. But only for the brave. In addition, we received dishes, i.e. some of them without rice or salad. Nowhere on the menu is anything about extras so appear to be...

Very disappointed with this place. The service was terrible. Sat waiting to order at the table whilst everyone looked at us and talked behind the bar. Also ordered food that I don't believe was anywhere near standard. The photos below show "fried Wan tons" which were empty pieces of cardboard. There is also a picture of the "fried rice" that I ordered which was steamed rice with a few bits of egg in it. When we sat down the glasses were dirty which the waitress just looked at scrstched off and gave it back to us. Extremely disappointed with the service...

The food here was of a reasonable standard and the price was also ok. However the service was terrible and strangest I have ever had in a Chinese restaurant. The waitress was almost hostile, so much so that we felt like apologising for coming in to spend our money in their venue! We had just discussed how you can rely on good food at good prices with good service almost anywhere.... when we found the one place that knocked that theory on the head! With an abundance of eating venues on the Lido I suggest you give this one a miss...
