The service and atmosphere are wonderful. The restaurant is located right next to a canal and it's quite busy throughout the day with staff who work hard to be efficient, friendly, and thorough. They offer complimentary breadsticks and slices of bread.

There are some vegetarian options offered on the menu as well. I tried asking about making the stuffed eggplant dish vegetarian, but they could not do it for me so I got a vegetarian fusili pasta dish. It was very nicely presented and was made with fresh, high quality ingredients, but tasted quite bland. I asked for some chili oil and parmesan cheese to give it a bit more flavour, especially since this is my last stop on a trip through Italy after eating a lot of delicious, flavourful food.

My partner got the polenta with squid. Again, it was presented very beautifully, and he said it was cooked very well, but lacked seasoning.

The food is probably meant to satisfy the needs of tourists with varying degrees of spice tolerance.

Standard Venetian prices for the area (everything is more expensive around the...

Great food, Great service, a must-do in Venice. We found this restaurant on our second night, while walking around, and we decided to try it because it had good reviews. We loved it so much we went back twice! The first night we were there early-ish and the restaurant was quiet. We had a relaxing and delicious dinner (you have to try the Venetian style fish starter with polenta and the vegetables Mafaldine pasta). The service was friendly, efficient and attentive (thank you Gino!), but we thought it’s easy to give good service in a quiet restaurant. However the next day when we went back the restaurant was fully packed and the service was still perfect! All the staff are very sweet and Italians, and locals go there too (a good sign). Other dishes I recommend are the Pomodoro alla greca starter (feta filled tomato) and the vegetarian lasagne. The pizzas are amazing also. The prices are more than reasonable for the quality and quantity you get. We will definitely go back next time we...

This restaurant was recommended by our Airbnb host, but unfortunately, it turned out to be the worst service experience we’ve had.

Not a single smile during the entire service Cutlery was literally tossed at each of us, including our two children A completely different dish from what we ordered was served (we pointed it out, and it was replaced) It took more than 40 minutes for our food to be served

That sums up our experience at this place.

Was it because we are Japanese (or Asian)? Was it because we entered the restaurant about 90 minutes before closing?

We don’t know the reason, but the treatment felt discriminatory and left us very uncomfortable. Therefore, if you fall into either of the two categories above, we cannot recommend this place at all.

The food itself—such as the shrimp pasta and lasagna—was actually quite delicious, which made the experience all the more disappointing. (By the way, the carbonara pizza that looked great in photos was just...

We visited Muro Frari with our kids, and it was a pleasant stop during our day out in Venice. The kids absolutely loved their pizza and pasta — fresh, flavorful, and perfectly portioned. I had the vegetarian couscous, which was nicely done and satisfying. The service was friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere was relaxed, even with little ones in tow. However, the attention to detail was a bit lacking — a few small things were missed (like milk for coffee or checking in after food was served), which kept it from being a five-star experience. Overall, a good family-friendly spot with great food for kids and decent vegetarian options. We’d return for the pizza and the easy-going vibe.

We found Muro Fari after Googling 'Best pizza in Venice' and it didn't disappoint! Easily our favorite meal of the trip – we enjoyed incredible pizzas covered in fresh ingredients. The menu also had plenty of other delcious looking options like steak, calzone and burgers for those not feeling a pizza. Prices were incredible for the value. Cheaper than the more touristy areas but with better quality food! Staff are very friendly and quick to take orders/bring food. Only point to note is this place isn't right on a canal so you won't be sat by the water, but its unmissable food once you've had that experience elsewhere. Turn up early or book for better chance at outdoor seating.
