The service and atmosphere are wonderful. The restaurant is located right next to a canal and it's quite busy throughout the day with staff who work hard to be efficient, friendly, and thorough. They offer complimentary breadsticks and slices of bread.
There are some vegetarian options offered on the menu as well. I tried asking about making the stuffed eggplant dish vegetarian, but they could not do it for me so I got a vegetarian fusili pasta dish. It was very nicely presented and was made with fresh, high quality ingredients, but tasted quite bland. I asked for some chili oil and parmesan cheese to give it a bit more flavour, especially since this is my last stop on a trip through Italy after eating a lot of delicious, flavourful food.
My partner got the polenta with squid. Again, it was presented very beautifully, and he said it was cooked very well, but lacked seasoning.
The food is probably meant to satisfy the needs of tourists with varying degrees of spice tolerance.

Read moreGreat food, Great service, a must-do in Venice. We found this restaurant on our second night, while walking around, and we decided to try it because it had good reviews. We loved it so much we went back twice! The first night we were there early-ish and the restaurant was quiet. We had a relaxing and delicious dinner (you have to try the Venetian style fish starter with polenta and the vegetables Mafaldine pasta). The service was friendly, efficient and attentive (thank you Gino!), but we thought it’s easy to give good service in a quiet restaurant. However the next day when we went back the restaurant was fully packed and the service was still perfect! All the staff are very sweet and Italians, and locals go there too (a good sign). Other dishes I recommend are the Pomodoro alla greca starter (feta filled tomato) and the vegetarian lasagne. The pizzas are amazing also. The prices are more than reasonable for the quality and quantity you get. We will definitely go back next time we...
Read moreThis restaurant was recommended by our Airbnb host, but unfortunately, it turned out to be the worst service experience we’ve had.
Not a single smile during the entire service Cutlery was literally tossed at each of us, including our two children A completely different dish from what we ordered was served (we pointed it out, and it was replaced) It took more than 40 minutes for our food to be served
That sums up our experience at this place.
Was it because we are Japanese (or Asian)? Was it because we entered the restaurant about 90 minutes before closing?
We don’t know the reason, but the treatment felt discriminatory and left us very uncomfortable. Therefore, if you fall into either of the two categories above, we cannot recommend this place at all.
The food itself—such as the shrimp pasta and lasagna—was actually quite delicious, which made the experience all the more disappointing. (By the way, the carbonara pizza that looked great in photos was just...
