Secret Venice Tours — Local services in Venice

I haven't done the tour yet but I had to review b/c of the booking process and how helpful Lu has been with everything. I found the Secret Venice tours when browsing Google maps. Once I read the reviews I knew I had to book a tour. She has been so helpful and put me at ease and now excited about the upcoming trip to Venice. Lu made several recommendations about everything from where to eat (several recommendations), other tours to take, glass making class and even helped me find a tour guide for Rome.

Lu is also a great communicator; she quickly responded to my emails, and was very clear with all instructions and details.

I am so excited about the upcoming trip and will be sure to report back with more information and pictures.

Post tour update We had an amazing time with Lu, she is the most attentive and knowledgeable tour guide we have ever come across and was highly engaging with everyone. Even our 14 year old daughter was chatting with her non-stop. Lu took us through 6 different neighborhoods and a tour of where the gondolas are repaired. On the tour she pointed out different areas of interest.

What I especially enjoyed was that she had a tablet loaded with pictures to explain certain topics in detail. She seems prepared for any and all questions. I highly recommend booking a tour with her and do it early in your trip so you can see neighborhoods you may want to go back to. As soon as I get good internet I'll post pics.

We were fortunate to find Lucrezia (Lu) Della Sala & Secret Venice Tours from a review someone else provided. All we can say is, THANK YOU! Now to provide a review in return that will hopefully inspire someone else to book a tour, or tours, with her! This trip was three years in the making and was our first trip to Venice. We conversed with Lu in advance via email to discuss the things that were important to us on this trip. Her thoughtfulness, attention to detail, and the focus on what was important to us, was a surprise and delight. We were very fortunate to book several days and could spend a week learning and enjoying the City of Venice through the eyes of a local, Lu. Of course, she shared the usual suspects, St. Marks Basilica, the Doge’s Palace, the famous bridges, the oldest gondola maker, and the famous bookstore. The real magic for us was behind the scenes. She took us to some of the dark historical places, quaint neighborhoods, secret gardens and provided us with laughter and smiles sharing some of the quirky history too! Her talents and level of care are second to none. She recommended and made reservations for us every night (my husband is particular about pizza, and she found places he loved), and even helped us secure a safe ride to the ship port on our final day. My husband says after three weeks of touring throughout Italy, with many different guides, Lu is by far the best! We are looking forward to our next trip to Venice, which of course, will include tours for as many days as Lu...

Lucrezia is an amazing lady and an amazing tour guide! She rapidly followed up with me after I sent a request for tour info and worked with me throughout the planning process to answer my questions, make tour recommendations and ultimately to come up with a perfect tour for me and my wife. Lu reached out to us again a few days before we arrived to check in and ensure we had no needs to help ensure safe and efficient arrival into Venice and to the tour meeting location. On tour day, Lucrezia arrived right on time and started the day by sitting down with us and showing her plan for the day - which was perfect. On the tour itself, we toured Venice like a local, seeing places off the beaten track and hearing details about the history of Venice and stories of the diverse and interesting residents of the city, past and current. Finally, we had a detailed tour of Doge’s Palace. Lucrezia also arranged a wonderful private gondola ride and helped us end the day and the tour with a beautiful grand canal boat ride. What an amazing time! Lu also helped us with our own plans for a previous day’s nighttime tour of St. Mark’s Basilica (we highly recommend seeing the basilica this way), dinner and of course Gelato. Lucrezia has great knowledge of the Venetian history and culture and builds strong relationships with her clients during the tour, treating us more like family than customers. We quickly made a new friend in Lucrezia and can’t wait to see her again....
