"A True Taste of Venice" ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Taverna da Baffo was a delightful find! Tucked away on a charming canal, this traditional tavern transported us back in time with its rustic decor and authentic Venetian atmosphere. We were lucky enough to snag a table outside on the terrace, which offered stunning views of the canal. The food was absolutely delicious! We started with the Insalata di piovra (octopus salad) which was fresh and flavorful. For our main courses, we couldn't resist trying the Spaghetti al nero di seppia (squid ink spaghetti) and the Frittura di calamari (fried calamari). Both dishes were cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. The portions were generous, and the ingredients were clearly of the highest quality. The service was warm and friendly, adding to the overall charm of the experience. Our waiter was happy to offer recommendations and even gave us a brief history of the tavern. If you're looking for an authentic Venetian dining experience with delicious food and a charming atmosphere, Taverna da Baffo is a must-visit! Just be sure to make a reservation, as it can get quite busy. Tips: * Ask for a table on the canal-side terrace if the weather is nice. * Don't miss the Spaghetti al nero di seppia - it's a classic! * Save room for dessert - their tiramisu is divine. #VenetianCuisine #HiddenGem #CanalsideDining #AuthenticFood #TavernaDaBaffo #Venice

It's taken me a little while to finish reviews based on my trip to Italy with my husband, but I saved the best for last! We ended our journey in Venice, staying three nights at a lovely apartment off the Rio De S. Agostin. This restaurant was quite close, with tables on the terrace next to the canal. Our first evening, we stopped for Select Spritzes before heading out to an evening tour. We were early starters but the service was outstanding none the less. The next day, we had a long day of touring, so when we returned, stopping for a spritz seemed appropriate. I quickly decided to remain and move to anitpasto, dinner, and dessert. Our traveling companions joined us on the terrace for a magical evening by the canal. My group of four had a fabulous time, an amazing meal, and remained on the terrace for at least three hours! Styles, our server, was so attentive and ensured every minute was comfortable and fun! I asked him to choose my dinner, a fish dish that was delectable. He chose the wine, a yummy Valpolicella, and a chocolate dessert that was equally as yummy. As much research as we did planning this journey, it is often the unplanned that becomes the most memorable. This was one of those moments! I hope others will have as much fun as we did!

Cute restaurant by a small canal with indoor and outdoor seating. Came here for dinner on our last night in Venice after having passed by it earlier in the day, and it was a quaint spot to eat. The food is tasty and the service was nice (albeit a tad slow, although it is Italy). Credit cards are accepted. You pay by credit card inside. It is good for bigger groups. We got bread to start (complimentary) and the baccala (creamed codfish) which was purported to be a local specialty. It came on top of polenta and was a light appetizer. I had the tagliatelle nere which was a super interesting pasta that I really enjoyed (it had pistachios and squid ink). The spaghetti alla busara was a red pasta and my sister enjoyed it. The squid ink pasta is another solid choice. My dad really enjoyed the Venetian style liver (fegata alla Veneziana) if you’re looking for something heartier (it comes with polenta). We had a round of limoncello to finish off our dinner, and it was served in very pretty shot glasses.
