Beware of their hidden €5 cover charge per person. It’s not mentioned on their menu, website, nor does the wait-staff make this known. We searched high and low for good pizza in Venice and finally heard about Dai Fioi where we made a reservation. When we arrived, it felt like we walked into the back of the restaurant. We ended up asking the chef if we came in the wrong door? And he pointed us to the bartender. We were made to wait 5 min for a table despite the fact that there were numerous 2-person tables available which slightly irked us. Then we had to repeatedly wave down our server for help ordering drinks and food and to pay. He was a good server but just inattentive. The pizza options were thoughtful and well put together, but honestly the crust had no integrity and we ended up having to eat the pizza with our fork lol. The flavors were spot on, though. As we paid the bill, I didn’t recognize “2 x coperto €5” line item. I asked and was told it was their cover charge? This bothered us. Felt like they were taking advantage of the fact that we may have been tourists / non-Italian speakers. Whatever.

Seriously amazing pizza! They were kind enough to accommodate the option to customize your pizza with extra toppings and whatnot. (They actually have suggestions on their menu on what you might wanna add). I had the Formaggi with cherry tomatoes put in at the end of cooking and ossocollo. For the atmosphere, the vibes were lively and all the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The restaurant was spacious, clean and had an outdoor area. I swear it’s the best pizza I’ve had in my life!! The restaurant is also friendly to “American” tastes (I am Asian but I just to point it out) as they have some options like chicken nuggets, fries and burger (this is obviously not the highlight of their menu as most of them are pizzas, Italian-faire and local Venezian). Didn’t try them but I thought I’d just put it here for the cases of picky eaters. My partner thought the pizza took a bit longer to come but I didn’t 😆 so NO COMPLAINTS FROM ME lol Anyway, you MUST go to this restaurant if you’re in Venice. It’s also located in an area that has more locals than the touristy places I’ve visited so far.

I'm a dual citizen, and I groaned when I learned I'd be visiting my brother in Venice, because the food just is not it. After a few VERY mediocre meals, we ventured to find a place far far away from the touristy areas. Initially, to be honest, we wanted to go to Trattoria dai Tosi, but they were full, so we made a gametime decision for Dai Fioi. Great choice. The insalata mista was super fresh, with a variety of vegetables and fruits. The prosciutto e burrata was OUTstanding, with a generous portion. Then, for the main, we had two gluten free pastas: cacao e pepe and ragu all'anatra. The pasta was overcooked, but that can happen with GF pasta, and the taste was excellent. Throughout, the restaurant used very obviously fresh ingredients, which was a welcome change. If you're a food snob currently in Venice who is seriously underwhelmed, look no further.

Disappointing and I’m struggling to believe other reviews. Last meal of our stay and until now we’d had amazing service and delicious food. However, here the service was both slow and all waiting staff completely indifferent. We waited over 25 minutes and no one came to even ask a drink order (it wasn’t overly busy) and staff just avoided eye contact. Some staff chatting by the desk. I had to go up and ask for someone to come over. Then, rather than just coming over and being normal there was a bit of an atmosphere. Drinks came with the wrong drink, and when I asked the waitress about my utterly bubbleless Prosecco (because it wasn’t Prosecco) she replied curtly ‘I don’t know I don’t drink’. Hilarious! Any way food was awful, my weird fruit vegetable salad someone had raved about was pretty horrid and the pizzas were very thin (which normally would be great) but so wet it was just like a bit of mediocre topping on a slimy plate. Wrong dish brought and you would have thought it was our fault. Polenta fritta tasted of old fishy oil and stuffed olives were not pleasant. To be fair, the guy who seemed to be in charge of the waiting staff was nice about it all, albeit a little insincere. There are much, much nicer places to go, with staff who make it a wonderful experience serving...

Tucked away from the bustling streets of Venice, I stumbled upon a charming restaurant that offered the best meal of our trip to Italy. The outdoor atmosphere was nothing short of magical. As I sat beneath a canopy of twinkling string lights, the night sky overhead seemed to envelop me in its embrace. Lush plants framed the setting, creating an intimate oasis that felt worlds apart from the city’s hustle and bustle.

The menu featured a delightful array of traditional Italian dishes, each crafted with fresh, local ingredients. I savored every bite, from the perfectly cooked pasta to the rich, savory sauces that danced on my palate. The warm, attentive staff added to the experience, making me feel like a valued guest rather than just another customer.

As I enjoyed my meal, the gentle sounds of the night complemented the ambiance—a soft breeze rustling the leaves and distant laughter from other diners. This enchanting space truly transported me, making my dining experience in Venice unforgettable. If you’re seeking a perfect evening filled with exquisite food and a captivating atmosphere, this restaurant is...
