A very nice looking place however (in my opinion expensive).
The service was friendly and spoke good English, and the food was very good.
Because I'm trying to save some money and the restaurant was more on the pricy side I was only able to convince myself for a first course of gnocchi and a dessert (which I believe was a chocolate mousse like cake, can't remember) both very nice and fair sizes.
The first course cost around 10 Euros I believe and the desserts around 5 or 6 Euros. The main course was a little disappointing as I could only see about 3 options (I think, but perhaps I missed something) and was around 18 Euros.
Overall a very nice and fancy restaurant (too fancy in my opinion but that's just me), very friendly staff and great quality and quantity food.
There is also a meal that costs about 75 Euros I think and according to the menu it's one of the best meat dishes so please tell me if you have it. The restaurant also has a bit of a back story near the front of the menu which I always love seeing and I believe it is a family business.
4 stars as it would be a perfect 5 if the prices was a bit more affordable and a bit more options for the main course. (Buy that's my opinion). If you have the time, and money, it's...
Read moreThis restaurant is decadently decorated, very much in keeping with the history of the place.
We got there quite early (7pm ish) and it was quiet. Staff was friendly but service was a bit slow as the restaurant got busy.
Food was reasonably priced and well cooked. Our starters of Beef Tartare and Crayfish with salad were both delicious. The beef was fresh and mustard was not over powering. Crayfish was juicy and salad had a lovely citrus dressing.
We had a gnocchi and pasta with prawn as our main. Both could do with a bit more seasoning but delicious nonetheless.
Desserts did not disappoint, we had a tiramisu and mille-feuille from the specials. Both were well executed. My Mille-feuille had beautiful light but buttery flakes. It was served with strawberries and small chicks of dark chocolates. It was divine!
One criticism I have of the restaurant is the use of art work and decor depicting slaves. I fully understand that it is reflection of the history of the place but there needs to be a recognition that it is not appropriate to have them on display in 2024. They...
Read moreI don’t always feel compelled to write reviews but Cafe Carducci absolutely deserves one. This place was hands down the cafe highlight of my entire trip to Verona.
The coffee here is incredible - proper Italian espresso that actually tastes like coffee should. Their pastries are fresh, especially the cream and chocolate croissants which were perfect. You can tell everything is made with care.
What really sets this place apart though is the authentic atmosphere. It has that genuine traditional Italian cafe charm - not touristy at all, just real old-school character that makes you want to sit there for hours. The aesthetic is exactly what you picture when you think classic Italian cafe.
The service was great - friendly staff who made the experience even better. And honestly, the prices blew me away. So reasonable for the quality you're getting. On average paying €6 for two coffees and two pastries.
If you're visiting Verona, seriously make time for this place. It's the kind of spot that makes a trip memorable. I ended up going back each day because it just felt...
