La Segreteria Café — Restaurant in Verona

This is as real as it gets. I've been going in and out of this place for a few years now and it never ceases to amaze me. The man behind it, Gianpiero, is a young man who started working as a bartender early on and made a lifestyle out of his craft. He brings his creativity and vision into every tiny detail, I'm sure you will understand what I'm talking about right as you walk in.

Our urban culture is super important to us, after all we're a relatively small city where everyone knows each other. I meet friends every time I walk into this place, meaning that we as locals fully love this place.

The level of the base products and ingredients is insane, the staff really puts a lot of research and effort into coming up with crazy ideas without hindering or cutting corners on quality. It is clear as day that these guys periodically go abroad to grasp flavours and ideas to bring to town, the result is a pleasant contamination of our local roots with innovative twists. My sister in law and i just happened across this place as we were scoping out a place to eat in Verona. The owners welcomed us immediately; we found the atmosphere charming and like a casual book-swap cafe, and their food and wine recommendations were the best we’ve had yet in Verona. Sorry for reviewing so late but I was just thinking about my time in Verona earlier this year and what was the highlight but an off chance visit to this place for cocktails. The couple running this business were engaging, welcoming, fun and were happy to give us tips and local information.
