Tre Risotti Trattoria — Restaurant in Verona

A wonderful traditional, romantic and quiet restaurant a few streets away from the touristy centre of Verona.

They specialise in risotto dishes, yet the menu has a lot on offer, from pasta, gnocchi, various meat dishes.

We shared the ‘Bruschette con pomodorini cirio e lardo’ (slices of toasted bread with tomatoes, waifer thin slices speck and extra virgin olive oil) as a starter, followed by the Spaghetti Vongole (spaghetti with clams) and the ‘Risotto con radicchio rosso di Verona e Monte Veronese’ (regional risotto dish with red radicchio). I loved all of it, maybe would have picked a different starter or a second one to share, eg the ‘Pinzimonio di verdure fresche’ (fresh seasonal vegetables served with extra virgin olive oil). 

They have some quite adventurous regional meat items on the menu. Notably gnocchi with donkey, horse meat with polenta, spaghetti with wild boar. . . We were very intrigued, however decided to go with our safer choices as we had no idea...

Tre risotti was such a pleasant experience, from our lovely server to the delicious food it was all around a great night. We were a table of 4 and shared all the dishes - starting with brushetta which was probably the best i've had in italy. Then we got the risotto all'amarone and the risotto with sausage and peppers, both really tasty although i preferred the risotto all'amarone. But the absolute star of the show was the potato gnocchi. I've never had a more fluffy and soft gnocchi in my life. We tried the gnocchi with ragu as well as the pastisada de caval, both really tasty i am still...

Great experience at this nondescript restaurant, far away (1 km) from Piazza Bra, the main town square. The nice thing about Italy is that you don't have wander that far to find these little gems. Not touristy, great food, and reasonable prices. I had a simple meal here, a plate of risotto made from some of the best cheeses and mushrooms I have had in Italy together with a glass of Amarone, the signature wine of the Verona area.
