Il Giardinetto — Restaurant in Volterra

First of all, it was absolutely disrespectful that in times of Delta-Covid variants only two waiters always served with mouth and nose protection, while the only waitress always wore it hanging under her chin!

The tagliatta were thin strips of beef, one third of which were sinewed, mixed together wildly on rocket with small pieces of grana. A whole piece of entrecote cut into strips could not be recognized either visually or in terms of taste. The truffle spagetti consisted of a salty "truffle" sauce with tiny truffle dots. It seemed strange that the same dish was later served at the next table with recognizable truffle slices. However, the pizzas topped with fresh ingredients, unfortunately not chosen, looked sensational.

After everything was still ok in 2019, 2021 was an immeasurable...

Called in to ask whether the restaurant was open. There were not any customers there at the time, not even one.

We received a grunt from a guy with a neck tattoo, so we kept on walking and spent our money in the next restaurant, which was fantastic.

If you grunt when someone talks to you, they will leave a one star review. It doesn’t cost anything to be friendly and polite.

Edit: the restaurant replied to say my review is for the wrong restaurant. I am 100% sure my review is for the correct restaurant - it is the one with lots of poor reviews. My advice is to avoid this restaurant if you wish to...

Erst wollten wir gar nicht in diesem Lokal essen, da es schon äußerlich den Eindruck erweckte als würde die Qualität hier nicht stimmen, haben aber leider die Google-Rezensionen vorher nicht gelesen und auf gut Glück hier gegessen, nachdem jede Menge Leute hier saßen.

Bestellt wurden u. a. Gnocchi alla Sorentina, Patate arrosto und Melanzane alla parmigiana. Das Essen war total minderwertig. Beim Servieren wäre ich fast vom Stuhl gefallen, weil die Portionen verdammt klein waren. Es ist schon krass, 8 Euro für ein paar Scheiben Auberginen zu verlangen. Ein paar Gnocchi wurden für 9 Euro serviert. Um in diesem Lokal satt zu werden müsste man p. P. noch eine Pizza dazubestellen.

Geschmeckt haben die Gnocchi wie aus der Dose, genauso wie die Tomatensauce. Als Mozzarella wurde Reibekäse verwendet, der zudem noch sparsam verteilt wurde.

Das Personal an der Bar/Kasse war desinteressiert und unsymphatisch, der Kellner hingegen freundlich.

Insgesamt waren weder Preis/Qualität noch Preis/Quantität in Ordnung. Beim nächsten Mal lassen wir uns nicht mehr blenden und lesen vorher lieber Rezensionen. Bei einem Lokal mit (aktuell) 3,6 Sternen muss etwas falsch laufen.
