Delicious casual local style restaurant. Very limited menu that rotates daily and reasonably priced. They have a few typical appetizers and then 2 pastas and 2 main dishes for dinner. We had one of each and they were all delicious. The prosciutto and melon was simple but a great starter. Both pastas were excellent. The main course we stuffed rabbit and guinea fowl. Both were new to us and good. The restaurant has a nice outdoor seating area to enjoy the ancient city and there are a few restaurants with outdoor seating all in that area. I’d definitely recommend sitting outside. Make sure to make a reservation as their is limited seating. Be patient as the staff is a small team so just enjoy your meal and the atmosphere. I will add parking in the area is limited and a bit confusing so if you aren’t already in the area leave some extra time to park and find the restaurant. I read some reviews that it isn’t a good spot for tourists. I don’t agree with that at all. I don’t think you will be able to get a table without a reservation though so that could be why others wrote that. Again definitely would recommend if you’re visiting.

Based on the positive reviews and the nice open location of the restaurant in the shadow of the trees we chose to have lunch here. We were lucky enough to still get a seat, since most tables were reserved. We both had a primi and a secondi and our two young children ate along. The pasta and gnocchi were simple but delicious. The secondi were disappointing. The fowl was simple and tasty but almost al bone (ribs and neck) and the boar was a bit dry and served with earthy tasting spinach. Consumed a bottle of water and one glass of house wine and spent 67 euro (incl 10 coperto). Next time would opt for a starter and the primi and stay away from the secondi.

Very nice restaurant in the Volterra city center. From the outside seems a small bar but it's a nice restaurant curated and cozy. We love the fact that they changed the menu every day so ingredients are fresh and delicious. Everything are hand made, we took a peposo and was one of the best in my experience, also gnocchi where very good. To taste the pannacotta with vinsanto reduction. Prices are good consider the center and absolutely normal for the quality. A very good place where eat.

Good choice? Tipical? Seems we'll never know. This because, after being asked for a table for two, the waiter simply forgot us. We waited a good 20 minutes in front of the entrance and no one notice anything, like "kitchen is closing", or "we are full, you have to wait". Simply forgotten. So, a BIG no, to this place. Thanks to his web site I discovered the opening hours start at noon, so the first hypothesis we made "maybe it's closing, they are at the end of their shift",...
