My wife and I took the last night of our honeymoon in at Osteria La Pace - unfortunately we felt let down (and I'm not sure of other's opinions, but with dining in Volterra in general?).

While we enjoyed a warm welcome and placed our orders, even receiving our starters promptly if felt like we were forgotten after that.

Several other parties arrived after us, placed their orders and were served before we were.

When our dishes arrived they got my order wrong and tried to tell me there wasn't meat in the dish (I wouldn't mind but I am a vegetarian and there Was meat in the dish!).

We were singled out by the other, apparently local patrons at the restaurant (confirmed by the eye contact we received when leaving the restaurant) for raising these issues with the staff!

I have no idea why this restaurant rates as well as it does for Volterra, I would strongly reconsider eating here given the amount of poor and average reviews...

Stopped by because my family and I wanted to try the real toscan food. And it was beyond delicious is all homemade tasty and a real local flavor. Antonio make sure we get the right dishes for our journey. He is beyond great. I think he is part of the restaurant success because he is a non stop worker. Happy attentive helpful and to top it off our day he made the right recommendations and almost at the end he took some of his time to show some other customers the kind of music they listen on his country. And they even dance. It made me feel like home with all my family having a little party. The tiramisu is a must try. !!!!! My family says is the best one...

Fantastic place to be! Service was perfect. We got very good advices regarding the food from the waiter, followed it in full and never regret that decision. Food was awesome. Pasta with wild boar and Florentine steak were fantastic. Deserts were delicious. At the end of the dinner we were offered some pieces of watermelon by the owner who was sitting in the restaurant and enjoying and sharing his watermelon with everybody around. Absolutely nice and friendly atmosphere. Too bad we had been in Volterra for one evening only. Otherwise,we would definitely come again. Maybe...

Recommend to me and did not disappoint. Was the best meal i have had so far in a month in Italy. I had a Caprese salad the Strozzapretti al Chinghale and Lemoncello Spritz. The Chinghale was phenomenal so tasty and rich. Complimentary Lemoncello shots to finish dinner. The family run business staff were friendly and I felt at home even dining solo. Authentic Tuscan food with no pretension. Ill be back even if it means making a trip out of my way to visit the magical town of Volterra again. Belissimo!

A great traditional restaurant in Volterra. We tried a pasta dish with wild boar and a seasonal porcini mushroom lasagna recommended by the waiter. The atmosphere was calm and not touristy at all. Unfortunately, we couldn’t try the chocolate dessert as it had already run out. Other than that, the service was excellent and the atmosphere very pleasant. The lasagna was the best we had during the entire trip, and the wild boar sauce surprised us with its rich flavor and tender meat. We would definitely go back!

Incredibly nice and patient people. The pici cianghale was the best I’ve had in Italy, and I try it everywhere! We had the Pappa Selci which was something new and a great surprise, delicious! The tiramisu…thought I had died and gone to Tiramisu heaven floating the clouds! The cream is so light and silky and the soak was a perfect balance with a pretty good coffee punch, which is what I want in a tiramisu! We would eat here again and again, and probably will before we leave!
