I recently had the incredible opportunity to dine at the renowned Takino Restaurant in Aizu Wakamatsu. I had the pleasure of savoring their signature dishes, each a masterpiece in its own right. This is a more upscale japanese dining. They specialize in wappameshi. A set meal costs over 2500 yen but you do taste the quality. I ordered the 5 kind wappameshi. Servings were ample and each ingredient tastes superb. If you are a tourist, definitely try out this place. The only thing is that they don't have English menu and their menus don't have pictures. First time eating “wappameshi” which is one of the Fukushima’s specialty. Very unique gourmet where they put everything in the bamboo box looks like bento, it contains all of my favorite ingredients from egg roll, crab, ikura, meat. I guess the tips and trick for people when they’re eating this is basically you need to mix it instead of eating it like rice and the topping.
