I spent the most unforgettable morning in this quiet little café just off the Main shopping Street. Even though it is small and filled with regular locals, please don’t feel intimidated to go inside - you will be welcomed no matter who you are and where you come from. It’s over 40 years old and the owner is a gentle old man full of rich interesting stories of his customers all over the years. The place is filled top to bottom with miscellaneous items that customers bring from their travels, at least 10 different clocks chiming and tick tocking all at once. There is grand orchestral music radio playing too - it really is full of personality. There’s even huge items brought off of ships and old ship flags! It’s truly magical and it felt like I was living inside a piece of Japanese history, or even living inside a manga story or a film set. Please ask for permission before you take pictures respectfully. For ¥300 you get a very generous breakfast set, the coffee was actually really good and didn’t taste cheap at all. It’s not for people in a rush, it’s for people who want a gentle start to the morning - it’s a one-man show so have patience as the master prepares your food and drink. I can’t recommend it enough. The indoor smoking isn’t nice at all, but I think it is worth the discomfort. I will never forget this cafe. Please go here and enjoy the experience of an Aomori local!

C'est une expérience immersive plus. Le propriétaire a été tellement gentil en essayant de se comprendre et m'a même donné plusieurs présents. 400yens pr une grosse assiette, 1 café et 1 thé. Merci.

「あーっ！しもん行って来たでしょ(仕事抜け出しやがって！)」 バレバレである。 『しもん』の珈琲は酸味にコクもあり、自分の好きなタイプの珈琲。 が、しかしである。 カウンターのみの小さなお店は喫煙可。お店に煙草の臭いが深々と染み込んでいます。 自分は煙草をまったく吸いません。 普段は、煙草の臭いのあるお店は珈琲が美味しく味わえないのでパスするのですが、美味しい珈琲のためなら『虎穴に入らずんば虎子を得ず』のことわざ通りに入店です。 ウルトラマンのカラータイマーのごとく、滞在時間は、珈琲一杯を飲み干すまで。 お店を出ると明らかに自分が煙草臭い。 案の定、煙草の臭いが服にバッチリと染み込んでしまっていて、少し外を歩いた程度ではまったく煙草の臭いが…抜けないんだよなぁ。

I went in for breakfast and loved it! The atmosphere with all the clocks and items collected, the lovely smile of the older man. I got a tray with toast jam, small breadroll, salad and fried egg. Plus a large coffee mug and ice tea and with a very low cost. The items around are mesmerizing and the the old man was so friendly he even gave me a gift calendar. If you dont speak japanese i suggest yo use a translator to tell...

It was a wonderful breakfast there, you must have some time ahead before being served BUT the decoration is so interesting and original that you won't get bored at all waiting. The chief was kind, and put all his heart to make our breakfast :) And it was very cheap 300 yen. Becareful, this space allows...
