麺屋秘蔵 — Restaurant in Asahikawa

While staying in Asahikawa we stumbled across this place. The machine is in Japanese but we easily ordered using Google translate. We ordered the charred miso, very spicy. We both also added extra egg and I added pork. The server, a very kind woman, verified our order. I have had ramen across Japan and across the United States - this was easily one of the best bowls I've ever eaten. The broth was thick and full of flavor, it clung to the perfectly cooked noodles. The duck melted in my mouth. The pork was tender and flavorful. WOW. I couldn't finish the whole bowl but left very full and very happy.
