La Luna Italian — Restaurant in Beppu

A very good napoli style pizza. One could have easily eaten two pizzas as they are a little small. Very friendly staff. Pizzas come out quickly with perfect leopard spotting on the crust and they use fresh ingredients. Would have taken photos but we ate the pizzas too quickly because they were delicious. Would return if we ever come back to Beppu.

The pizza was so good that we returned for lunch the next day. The owners must have recognized us and welcomed us back. We spoke a combination of English and Japanese to each other telling them about our visit to Beppu. When our pizzas were ready the wrapped the boxes in a beautiful piece of linen. The owners here are so friendly and represent why we will miss Japan when we leave. Arigato...

The best pizza crust I've ever had. Chewy, crisp, smokey and a whole lot more. Quality product and ingredients. Very small menu is the biggest drawback. Limited lunch menu. Had calzone, margarita, 4 cheese and a couple pasta's over the past 2-3 wks. We go back every couple wks. All had well balanced flavors where you taste the ingredients. Nothing overpowering. This is our place for pizza, even with its very limited menu, the crust is that good.Today for dinner had caprese salad, quiche, chicken sausage white pizza, roasted eggplant pasta homemade ricotta. All were out of bounds. Quantity is small to western sizes but well worth it. Just had their lunch special. Got to make...

I liked the service a lot, very attentive and welcoming. The waiter that served us was very kind and accommodating. The food was good but nothing special (I wanted to add more salt/lemon for an extra flavour). I would not come back since the atmosphere is off. To go for an Italian romantic vibe, the lights should be warmer, candles should be added, more greenery and side warm lights as well. The place where people sit looked very empty to me.
