The place is odd. One shower in the womans room with no door to washroom. The shower has only a see through glass door. People then think it's OK to use the hairdryer at midnight. The sound is stupidly loud. There should be no use of a hairdryer in the room as there is no door. First night the hairdryer was used three consecutive times from 10.30 pm to just after midnight. Three very exceptionally loud people's in the dorm for day one, then day two just the one of them left. Packing and unpacking bags and cases altogether from 8pm until midnight. The sounds of plastic bags rustling was driving me insane. Day one and two of my stay, the white Dutch woman continued to open and bang locker next to my bed in the evenings three two four times per hour until just before 1am. No normal person would use a locker that frequently. The racket of the metal lockers would wake the dead. Exhausted here, and have not slept. Most hostels quiet times are from 10pm. Here it's midnight, supposedly. But the sound continued.. The bedding was horrible. Lumpy old duvet. Curtains did not fit bed and when women went to lockers can see in bed clearly. No amenities here. No laundry facilities. The elevator doors snap like an alligator. Very fast closing and clamped my hand. Beautiful...
Read moreThis guesthouse is awesome! The staff is kind and welcoming. The room was really cozy and relaxing. Usually bunk beds are weak and squeak easily, but in this guesthouse the bunk beds are just amazing, probably the best I encountered in my life! There are even wooden stairs to get to the top bed instead of the usual inconvenient ladder. Everything was clean and tidy. There are fridges, kitchen and a lot of tables to socialize or study/work. The common space is suitable to eat, study or speak/play with your friends. We can also get a free ticket to the local Onsen next door (however it is not for beginners like me because the water is insanely hot). The location and the price of this guesthouse are great as well. And cherry on top, there is an elevator and the checkout is at 11 a.m. against 10 a.m. commonly. The only point that can be improved in my sense is the wifi but it is still good enough (I am just really demanding). Overall this guesthouse is excellent and I highly recommend it...
Read moreWe stayed in a large double room. The location was convenient and there was easy parking, which is a big plus if you’re arriving by car. Just be aware that the surrounding streets and parking spots are quite narrow. Staff were friendly and spoke good English.
The room itself was spacious, which we appreciated, but it felt a bit strange: there were loose wires hanging in places, the sink didn’t have hot water, and overall cleanliness wasn’t great. The shower area was large and included a bathtub, though it was covered and not usable. The shower times were limited to between 3pm and 11am (even in our own one within our private room). Also the bathroom had an unpleasant smell, and there was no power outlet there. The building was also quite noisy.
Renovations seem to be planned soon, which would definitely help bring the place up to standard. As it is now, while the stay was fine overall, the room felt below average in terms of comfort...
