The super-size bowl is actually huge. 960 yen is a really good price for the serving size. No need for any sides, you will leave totally full.
Ordering from the kiosk is a little confusing. Different than any other place I've been to. It even tripped up some Japanese locals. Insert money(yen only, no card), punch in what you want, press "Change" button, take change and receipts, go sit down.
Since I don't speak Japanese, I'm not sure the differences between all the different flavors, but I really enjoyed the miso ramen I got today. Add pepper to the ramen. Serious and noticeable difference.
When you can't finish, use Google translate and ask for a to-go bowl and enjoy the leftovers. Best heated up on the stove top for a few mins til simmering, and I think better as leftovers than fresh.
Very small parking lot but there's extra parking if you drive out the back of the place...
Read moreThis is one of the more popular places along 58 frequented by Americans. Ordering is easy, just walk in and immediately to the right is a coin-operated machine (yen only) that spits out little papers. Get whatever you want from the menu items via buttons (everything has pictures & English translation) then seat yourself and a wait staff will take them from you to order from the back. Wait time is usually fairly quick, only slow when they're busy. The ramen is pretty average imo, but the garlic fried rice is their star dish. I also like the orange drink, and they recently added oolong tea to the options which is always a plus. They don't have free tea unfortunately, only water. Definitely recommend trying it sometime before you leave the island. They don't accept...
Read moreWe went here for the garlic rice and was not disappointed. It is a different take on fried rice and it was very tasty. You order (and pay for) your food using a push button machine (yen only), get a ticket, seat yourself and then the staff comes by to assist you. The entree was served in a deep dish which was layered with the eggs (omelet style) on the bottom and rice, garlic, pork and other seasonings on top. Two large spoons were served with the dish so that you can mix it all together. It tasted great! There are more seasonings on the table if you would like to add your own touch. I recommend the spicy scallions. On site parking is limited, but there is more parking behind the restaurant a short jaunt down the street on the right. We...
