寿司善 — Restaurant in Fujikawaguchiko

We were not particularly familiar with the surrounding area and visited here based on other positive google reviews. It was a short walk from where we were staying but parking is available if you come from a little further away. We were greeted as soon as we entered and all of the staff were extremely friendly, helped us with ordering and food recommendations even though our group spoke very little Japanese and were very attentive throughout. (An English menu is available if you need)

We ordered a number of the sharing dishes and these were delicious and very well priced. The food was prepared and cooked fresh so if you order a mixture of sushi and cooked dishes be aware that some dishes can obviously take longer than others to prepare.

Overall the staff gave us an exceptional experience with some wonderful food and I would thoroughly recommend eating here if you are staying...

The shop is easy to find, located on the main road leading straight to Lake Kawaguchiko. There are several parking spaces in front of the shop. The day we went to eat was quite late, when we entered the shop there were no other customers. The owner's grandmother must have come out to rest and was in a wheelchair. Another old lady in the shop, who seemed to be her daughter, quickly pushed the old lady out of the way and arranged enough seats for the 5 of us. The uncle who is the chef carefully prepares sushi and sashimi. The food we ate was quite expensive, but fresh and delicious. Although the portions were not much, everyone was full. Came here during December 2024, parking was pretty accessible as it was at the front and the restaurant is located on the main road.

We eventually found this place after going too a lot of restaurants at niight which had the signs saying "Off Today" (lol).

Service was fantastic and the kind couple were really a delight to speak with. Everyone in Fujikawaguchiko are super polite.

Really fresh, bold flavoured sushi and the wasabi flavour was fantastic. You can tell the sushi was super high quality....
