The hidden gem for local Japanese Seafood restaurant in Kawaguchi. Located in the stranded place and not far from the main road. This place offers daily catch live seafood and menu will depend on what they caught. Menu from Kaisen Eisyou will be varies on the season. This is very local restaurant so they don't provide any English menu and there is no image of the dishes. The food here is absolutely amazing, very local and authentic Japanese. The freshness of the fish is stunning, very strong in flavor of the sea. Sashimi is the dish that you really need to order, it is very flavorful and umami. The Grilled and Aburi fish also nice, well-cooked and tasty it very good dish for appetizer. This place is famous for Japanese Don, both Tempura and Kaisen (Seafood) Don, they use the good quality of fresh seafood and served two style of it. Terrible service, overcharged on cover charge and additional food brought in by customer. My 2yo had to eat her own food as she has a preference for noodles. We asked if the resturant had noodles, but they said no. We pre-packed ramen as a contingency only to find out they charged us an exorbitant 2,000yen for the cover charge for cup noodles. To be honest, I’m willing to pay a price in my circumstance. But this pricing is extortion! This resturant has long way to go to understand proper customer service and being flexible some times. Lesson learnt here, can’t bring children to Japanese...

Absolute must do when you stay in Kawaguchiko! As a backpacker my by budget is pretty low but here I got amazing high quality sashimi dishes for a affordable price, so especially if you are looking for a great value for money - you are right here. Got a lunch menu for less than 1000¥. Dinner for less than 2000¥.

They gave me a little appetizer for Dinner and some soup to refill my leftovers in the bowl, felt really welcoming.

Like the Ambience too, not busy, no long waiting and the stuff is just lovely.
