Gives a nice view of Mt. Fuji and is a good place to take pictures.
The balcony in front of the building (free access!) is arguably the best place to take pictures. has some posts for cameras/phones that are really helpful for taking group photos. Also there is a hammock and a bell that may make your photos more interesting. There is plenty of sitting benches if you want to enjoy the view of Mt Fuji.
Entry to the deck building is 500jpy. It contains a small gallery, a caffe overlooking Mt. Fuji and an open space deck on the top of the building. The best thing about it is taking a short rest in the cafe. Do not expect much of their food, it is probably better to go for a soft cream or some coffee if that is your sort of a thing. However, having a short stop there is definitely worth it.
Morning was not crowded. I do not know of it gets busier in the afternoon.
Overall it is a good place to stop by, if you find yourself in the...
This is a viewing facility that was built so that visitors can relax and enjoy a view of Mt.Fuji. Although it’s 13 meters high, this is the height from the entrance to the viewing platform, and the facility itself is built on a small hill, so from the lowest point on the grounds, including the herb garden, it’s probably about 20 meters high. There are no tall buildings in the area below or around the observatory, and the view of Mt.Fuji from the observatory is truly wonderful (although if the weather is bad or Mt.Fuji is too covered in clouds, the attraction of the facility will be reduced considerably). In addition, there is a herb garden below, and in autumn you can admire the changing leaves, and in winter (on a clear day after it has snowed) you can admire the snow-covered view, and the view of Mt.Fuji combined with these other views is even more wonderful. The observation floor is divided into two areas: one is outdoors, and the other is indoors. There are also several hammocks set up outdoors, as well as sofas. The indoor area is a cafe, where you can enjoy a view of Mt.Fuji while eating a parfait modeled on Mt.Fuji or the Sea of Trees. There is also a corner in the facility where you can enjoy photos, cutouts, and other illustrations and art related to Mt.Fuji itself or Mt.Fuji. Even if you don't enter the facility, there are several spots in front of the entrance where you can admire Mt.Fuji. What's more, this area is free to use. This area is more specialized for taking photos of your own choosing, combined with various objects, rather than for taking your time to admire Mt.Fuji. On the other hand, there are not that many sofas or benches, so it's a good idea to share them with others. There is a unique system in place at this facility: you buy a ticket from a ticket machine at the entrance, then put the ticket in a special box and take the...
Read moreLocated within the Herbs Garden, Fujisan Deck boast a paranomic view of Fujisan where you can enjoy the view either on the open air deck or in their cafe with very comfortable chairs and sofas.
It cost only 500 yen to enter but its more than worth it given that you get to enjoy a nice stroll around the Herbs Garden and an amazing, unblocked view of the beautiful, perfectly conical Fujisan.
The snacks consist of mochi, soft serve, coffee, cocoa or red bean soup which were all delicious and worth every penny.
When we arrived there was not crowded at all, consistingly main of scattered groups of locals or Taiwanese.
Be prepared to spend at least a couple of hours here to really soak in the view; its truly a vibe.
Do check online on the weather forecast specifically for Fujisan before committing to...
