Food was very nice, service was awful - a really poor experience that put a downer on the whole meal.
To summarise the below detail - although the meal was great I would recommend you go somewhere else. There are tonnes of options and this restaurant definitely don’t care if you have a good meal or not.
The gentleman serving us had no clue, items would come out late (including drinks ordered at the start, arriving half way through the meal). Then food was brought out late or not at all.
The worst of all was when they combined 3 orders of meat mains from 3 people onto one large plate, then told us this was for the 1 person that had ordered a platter.
That person had finished, sharing some of what he had ordered with the others that had not received mains yet.
As it had taken so long we waited until we could get the attention of the lady that could speak the best English (our fault for not being able to speak Japanese, I know).
To be told that although 2 dishes of chicken definitely hadn’t arrived and would be taken off the bill, the two other mains had been delivered and they had made a mistake.
The WORST part of all of this is that the restaurant admitted it was their mistake, but because the food was delivered, we still had to pay in full.
A bit of back and forth later, we received 2000yen discount on 3 dishes worth 48000 yen.
Pretty disgusting to be honest.
In total we checked the meals were still coming 3 separate times during the sitting and were assured they were, along with confirming who the meal was for before beginning to eat.
The guy that served us was completely incompetent. The girl did her best but got poor info from the guy.
I’d avoid if I were you based on this experience, they don’t care about you as a customer,...
Read moreIt was a good way to discover wagyu and how fatty it really is. It is good but eating too much wagyu doesn't feel right. It should be better to balance it with less fatty meats, vegetables and rice for instance.
I rate this a 4 in cuisine not because it's bad just because I had somehow to avoid putting the maximum score : I think it is way too expensive for what it is really. And I couldn't do anything about the rating of : quality of service and ambiance be cause I personally loved it.
If you traveled around Japan you can see that you can eat better with 15 euros than in some restaurants in Europe for 35.
It is different dishes of course, and I understand after some time wherever you are, you just want to eat something else at some point. But they value quality ingredients and good service even more. The food is not expensive. You can eat really good for 2000 yens at some local restaurants.
With what I ordered there, it skyrocketed to + 10000 yens. Surprisingly I would have appreciated the wagyu beef better if I had less and more of other dishes like red meat to compare it at the same time.
With the choice I made I really paid the price.
I'm not blaming the restaurant. I rate is as 5 out 5 overall. The only thing is the high price if you would like to try some of the star dishes on their menu be prepared. After all of what we hear about wagyu beef, curiosity does a great job.
Also I went alone, and I firmly believe this place is way more enjoyable when you can order big plates and different meals and share it with everyone...
Read moreThe place was nice and cozy. Service was ok, doesn't speak much english, but SLOW... They have 1 server for the entire restaurant (not sure how many in the kitchen).
Their meat quality was good, but expensive, the portion was also small. How small? Around 4-6 pieces of meat per order. We (2 of us) ordered like 4 different types of meat, but they don't come together. Remember how I said service was slow? So we grilled 4-6 pieces of meat, then we gotta wait for our next order of meat to come for about 5 minutes each. Imagine eating 2-3 pieces of meat and then taking a break from eating for 5 minutes, then grilling again, then eat 2-3 meat, waiting for 5 minutes again... (I prefer if they give side dishes like korean bbq style)
We also ordered seaweed soup, but that doesn't come out until near the end...
So yea, food was good, place was nice, but the dining...
