I visited a flower shop/ Cafe/ Museum near Mt. Fuji earlier this month with a group of friends and this is the only picture with Signs.
Code Preference System The Sign clearly prioritises Japanese at the top, followed by English for the Signs that are pasted at the side of the Cafe. However, the Signs near the flowers are purely in Japanese. This reflects the language hierarchy in Japan, where Japanese is the National language, and English is often used by tourists. English is also probably on Signs that matter more like the name of the Shop because that is more relevant information for tourists as compared to the flowers because all they need to know is the Price and not what kind of flowers they are etc.
Inscription System The Signs use very neat/ orderly fonts and the Japanese characters are placed above the English translation and it is usually BIGGER, making it more prominent as compared to the English Code. The pricing on the flower Signs are more prominent as they are bigger and in bold as compared to the description of the flower. The Signs are made from laminated paper for the flowers and Stickers/ Blackboard for the shop
Emplacement System The Signs for the flowers are placed nicely at the back of the flowers making it easier for buyers to identify that those set of flowers are priced at that specific price. The Signs on the shop are also placed at the entrance/ side of the shop pointing to vital information about the shop like its name, the type of services it offers, whether there is wifi etc.
