Miyaki Udon — Restaurant in Fujiyoshida

We googled "Udon" and found this place. We were very jappy with our meal (we had to wait for 15mins outside the store as it was very busy). We couldn't try the tempura udon as they were running out of tempura but the wakame udon and niku (horse meat) udon were delicious. It was also very cheap too (500yen / bowl). Apparently this is a specialty udon (slightly chewy and harder), we prefer this one than the "standard udon" that we are used to outside Japan. Highly recommend this when you are in the area! Found this place on Google Maps when driving down from Mt. Fuji. Reached around 11.20am and there’s a queue waiting as the restaurant is full inside. Once inside, the lady knows we’re not local and promptly show us the English menu.

Ordered the noodle soup with seaweed and udon seems to be hand made and very delicious though I find the soup a bit salty for my taste. One of the really good yoshida style of hard chewy udon. It is not far from the main road but with limited parking spaces. Long queue everyday mostly by Japanese and you can't be group together for seats.

Very small shop with only a small selection of udon. But, the udon here is really good, soup is not thick or too salty. The meat udon is not beef, it's horse meat so please be reminded and not make a fool of yourself.

The fried vegetables is not freshly fried, it's room temperature so less 1 star for that.
