FUK COFFEE Parks — Restaurant in Fukuoka

We ordered pudding, matcha latte, houjicha latte, melon soda, expresso ginger and cream puff for a group of 6. The pudding and houjicha latte was good. Matcha latte was good as well. The staffs were not friendly as compared to other shops we visited despite the language barrier. The shop was filled with 1 or 2 customers even I visited with my mom so there are empty tables available. I settled and seated my mom (age 75) first at the corner before asking what she wanted to drink as she was unable to read the menu. The staffs kept urging us to order at the counter before we can be seated. So I need to bring my mom to the ordering counter instead. At the counter, I saw their ordering instruction for customer which states we need to order first before we can be seated as there might be long queue. I totally understand their ordering flow if the place is fully packed but this was not the case as there are no customers behind us and the place is not fully packed. As the staffs are not English speaking, they are not very helpful when we order. I recommend to go to other cafes instead. Coffee shop convenient to Ohori Park Station with a catchy name based on the Fukuoka airport code.

Unfortunately, they appear to rely on the above appeal to get customers, because their sense of the expected Japanese hospitality is nonexistent. Awful customer service. Shockingly bad for Fukuoka.

When we tried to visit on a 97 degree (36 Celsius) day, the indoor tables were full. We were told we could take a standing table near the door or sit outside, but once we chose we could not move even if a seated table came available.

The irony is as we walked out to find a more welcoming coffee shop, a table vacated.

Ended up at Coffee Maker in the lobby of the nearby Unplan Hostel - friendly staff, roast their own beans, and the coffee is ¥50-100 more affordable than FUK.

Very quaint and modern cafe. Pudding has a bit of an eggy flavor, which isn't my style, but that's not an objective demerit, as many people enjoy this taste. I'm sure plenty will love it. Seating is a bit limited, and the wraparound outdoor bench surrounding the outdoor table is a bit inconvenient, though quite stylish. I'm just listing out any minor inconveniences for the sake of brevity; if I mentioned everything I enjoyed, this review would be twice as long.
