“大滿足” meaning greatly satisfied in Japanese and that was what I told the chef of the restaurant. I had the 6 pieces eel set and grilled without any sauce as I wanted to try the true taste of the eel as many times the sauce was too strong. The eel was perfectly grilled and the rice was cooked in cast iron ware which enhanced its flavour a lot. After I finished the eel and rice, to be honest the portion was a bit small, I asked for some crispy rice to go with some soup. You may ask for a refill of rice or crispy rice which is free. This is probably one of the best eel rice I have had so far. Highly recommended.

福岡市中央区大手門3丁目エリア〜地下鉄「大濠公園駅」徒歩6分！白い壁のモダンな建物に大きく「愛とうなぎ」の文字が目立つ「カジュアルな鰻料理屋さん」です。コチラは2020年12月1日オープン！この「愛とうなぎ」をプロデュースするのが近くにある寿司屋さん「鮨料理一高」です。店内はカウンター9席のみ！デザインはシンプルながらカフェのような雰囲気となっています〜オープンから数度訪れていますが・・・今回初めて「うなぎの日」と称した「30食限定/半額」イベントに訪問してみました。 11時オープンなので40分前くらいに行けば30食の半額シートは確保できるだろうと伺ってみると、既に18名並んであって19番目にと・・・なんとか食べることはできるポジションを確保できたので安心はしたが、入店したのは2時間後でした！2回転目に入れず、3回転目となったのもあるがお客様の半数が女性ということもあり、手乗りサイズの「うな丼」一つ食べるのどんだけ時間かけるのと？大体の平均滞在時間を計測すると50分くらいでした。しかしながら〜行列の最後尾は30人以上並んでいるけど大丈夫なのかな？スタッフは並んでいるお客様の数を一度も計測に来たりもしていなかったけど・・・最後尾の方は3時間は並んでいると思います！最後の最後で売り切れました！などあったら激怒するだろうなってね思ったりもしました。入店すると店内はモクモク鰻焼き煙でスモークされるような雰囲気！鰻好きなら許せる範疇です〜頂いたのは「松４切/3300円→1650円」です。 2時間待った！待望の「うなぎ」が配膳されてきました〜鰻はお腹から尻尾側の４切れ「タレ焼」となっています〜先ずは「うなぎ」単味で食してみるよ！ハイ普通に美味しい！前回訪問した時よりタレはアップデートされいい塩梅になって鰻とのバランスも良くなってますね〜でも、やはり使用される「うなぎ」の成熟期間が浅めな細っそりとした鰻なので今一歩といった感じは否めません。次に南部鉄器で炊かれた、佐賀県産「ゆめしずく」を食してみると相変わらずな極ウマさ☆福岡飯炊きトップクラスです！こんな美味しいご飯はなかなか食べれませんよ〜半額イベントだから３つの南部鉄器はフル回転と大将は火加減を調整したり、鰻の焼きにと翻弄する大忙しです。この「半額/うなぎの日」イベントいつまで続けられるんだろう？でも、並んでいるお客様を拝見すると、今まで美味しい鰻を専門店で食べたことないような初心者が大半で、このイベントを機会に潜在的な「うなぎ好き」が増えればいいなとも思いました。ごちそうさまでした。 Enjoy Ell Life☆

The place lives up to its name, with the love that goes into preparing the food. Had lunch here yesterday, and ordered the 6-piece grilled unagi set. The unagi was grilled perfectly, with a sweet smoky taste that was unique and delicious. The chef prepared the food with such care and attention, and the staff were very friendly. Enjoyed the meal tremendously!
