Worst experience in Japan ever. We registered on the waiting list and left. When we go back, we’ve passed the number but one of the staff told us he can rearrange the seat for us. And he told the something to another group of clients who have pass their number as well.
After waiting for another 30 mins, one of the women staff come and told us we need to wait from the beginning cuz the number has passed.
The other group confront with her because the other staff told them it’s fine if they come back later at the beginning.
There are 2 things that is unacceptable: the lady staff is too rude without any manner. the staff do not take responsibility. 4 staffs telling us different rules separately. If they told us we need to line up from beginning, we will leave and won’t need to wait for another 30 mins outside in this freezing cold night. The male Japanese is dishonest as well as he committed the other client do not need to waiting outside but denied what he has said when confronting with the...
Read moreThe kani miso was amazing, and so were the other dishes. Unfortunately, the service was really disappointing. I initially ordered a fish dish, but quickly realized that the set menu with rice would be a better option. So, I asked the female server to cancel my order and switch it to the set menu (after I ordered single item less than 3 mins). She agreed, but then a male server came over and rudely told me they couldn't cancel it. Luckily, I know some Japanese, so I was able to explain the situation to him. At first, he refused to cancel it, but after I reminded him that the female server had already agreed to it, he reluctantly did it. It was a frustrating experience, and I can't imagine how it would have been if I didn't speak any Japanese. Despite the tasty food, I wouldn't recommend this place due to the...
Read moreI’ve been to this chain many times and it’s been good everytime. Never for lunch/dinner. It is THE place to keep the drinks going at night with good nibbles to enjoy. Order the DIY grilled shellfish (fresh clams are excellent for the price) and just simmer them slowly as you drink and chat. With enough tipple in you, go ahead and spark up conversations with the salarymen (and women) seated next to you. It’s a friendly, large, and airy (smoking allowed though) place. Note: never tried sashimi, tuna collar was dry (it’s albacore not bluefin, so no fat), start with the DIY shellfish platter then see where the...
