Shin-Gi-Tai Wolf Hakata — Restaurant in Fukuoka

This is a special restaurant. The food and the service was excellent.

The decor is stylish and modern. The dining areas are comfortable and private while maintaining the atmosphere of the restaurant. The views of the river and yatai stands are lovely.

The menu offers a number of options including a few set menus. We opted for the ‘grilled blowfish’ menu for ¥6,000. For what we had I thought this was very good value.

The food was delicious. We had 10 courses, the highlights of which were fugu (puffer fish) cooked for us on the grill and fugu sashimi. The grilled fugu was perfectly cooked and very tasty.

The service was excellent throughout. We weren’t able to speak Japanese but the staff were extremely accommodating and graciously used Google translate to describe the courses. One of the staff members could speak English and made us feel very welcome - thank you!

SUCH A BAD EXPERIENCE… We chose the ¥15,500 fugu course for four people, and unfortunately the experience was very disappointing. While the staff were polite, the service was so painfully slow that it felt like we were forgotten in the room. After the hotpot was served, no one came back to bring the rest of the dishes, and we ended up waiting far too long. In the end, we had to give up on the course and ask directly for the dessert instead. For the price and reputation, the pace and service quality were not...

We had a great dining experience. Despite arriving late, the restaurant staff was polite and accommodating, holding our reservation and greeting us warmly. We enjoyed excellent service and delicious dishes, especially the grilled and fried fugu, as well as the truffle rice ball. Our visit ended on a thoughtful note, with the manager providing umbrellas for us to use in the rain. Will definitely come back here when...
