Plant-based cafe NICE — Restaurant in Fukuoka

Highlight: delicious and pretty nice cream/smoothie bowls; filling burgers.

I'm really glad to see more vegan restaurants pop up in Fukuoka, especially ones serving food unlike the typical Japanese vegan restaurants. Although I love my macrobiotic restaurants with simple and healthy dishes 👌. I'm glad to have a different option.

I really like the ambiance. The kitchen is completely open so you can see everything the chef is doing. There's a large wooden table in the middle giving a real communal eating feel, and with a big window bringing in hella natural lighting.

The menu is quite large, with a nice amount of options. I tried the falafel and nachos, and sadly I wasn't a big fan. But the burgers were quite nice, and different from other places. The buns were heavily toasted and charred. Similarly the parties were also quite charred. So if you like the crispy texture and slightly fatty taste you'll love it. Not sure what the base of the burger is but it's quite crumbly, which I'm not a fan of, but the taste is nice. The highlight for me though, is the nice cream bowls. There's no other vegan restaurant in Japan that I've been to, that serves anything like this, although this is a super common vegan staple amongst all those skinny vegan insta models. Despite being basic, smoothie bowls are delicious, and the ones from nice do not disappoint! They have quite a few flavours too so I won't be bored...

Must-go vegan vegetarian restaurant Always feel fascinated by how One person can runs the cafe on their own We are too hungry so we ordered 3 burgers, the hamburg plate and lasagna plate and 3 side dishes.

Their patty is basically the same deep friend yummy one for the burger and the hamburg plate

The plate dishes include a few nachos , a falafel, salad, and sweet potatoes. So I recommend you to go for the plate if you want to try everything they have!

For hamburger , better pick the one with cream or cheese so it tastes less dry.

Words cannot describe how good these vegan burgers are! I am not exaggerating when I say the June monthly burger (which had pesto and sundried tomatoes and cheese) was possibly the BEST BURGER OF MY LIFE -- and I'm from The Land of Burgers (aka the USA), so this is really saying something. NICE puts all the American burger spots to shame! I've already been two nights in a row and would go again tomorrow if it wasn't closed :)

And don't skip the sweet potato fries or banana bread, either. Both are amazing!! I suspect the owner and chef could make anything delicious 😋
