Great cafe! It’s at a subtle location, we couldn’t find it initially. parking can be found nearby.
When we were there, there was only a barista and she was friendly! Really professional as she was preparing everything on her own.
Ordering is done by iPad with English. We can watch all the preparation, the cream for the pudding is made fresh (on the spot). Really a great experience
Drinks and food are fantastic!
The place is minimalistic and probably cannot host a lot of customers at one go. This is understandable since one barista can’t handle so much at one go. Good that it values quality control here too!

Read moreGood coffee but unfriendly service, cold vibe that was a little uncomfortable. Lots of people waiting outside, but the staff were slow to let people in. I was also told to take a picture of the menu and look at it outside, as though they want me to go away and not be inside. Other customers were also very rude, no thank you or please, and people were so slow to go despite clearly seeing the long queue outside. I felt I couldn’t relax and take my time, and wanted...

Philocoffea’s coffee quality is outstanding, however I have a concern towards the staff’s service.
I work as a hand dyeing artisan dyeing silk, and my hands become colorful on a daily basis. One time when I visited Philocoffea 201 my hands were dyed in purple, and without a greeting the young male employee directed me to the restroom, implying to wash my hands.
I found that rather disrespectful, for Kasuya san is aware of blue collar laborer’s work and struggle getting their hands dirty via his dedication of flying to foreign countries to meet with coffee farmers physically to make his own coffee, however I was ashamed that his respectful spirit was not passed down to his employees.
I won’t seek for apologies, however I would appreciate for having more effort in teaching employees a respect towards customers. Having a question towards why my hand was purple would have been better, and I would answer it in kind manner rather than writing...
