Edomatsu — Restaurant in Hakodate

I found this restaurant on Google and decided to try my luck going there without reservation. It was not too busy on Monday evening and I was seated. It is run by an elderly couple. There is English menu and with Google translate. I have no problem to order. The restaurant has 7 counter seats and perhaps 4 tatami seats. It was cozy, quiet and all other patrons were Japanese. I ordered something on the menu. The food is amazing. But next time I should order chef specials because that's what the local ordered. The variety of fish seems better. I will go back to try the chefs specials. Finally, the price is very reasonable with the quality...

Had a lovely, peaceful meal here of deliciously fresh seafood. Run by an older couple; the wife served us tea and the husband was the sushi chef. Neither speak English but they did their best to make us feel comfortable and helpfully provided a menu with photos...

Very nice family run small sushi joint in middle of residential neighborhood. Fish was super yummy and fresh and medium to low priced, a couple of set menu options for 3,000-4,000. I had the place to myself on a cold snowy mid-week night but it was delightful...
