I was sorting out my old pictures and i found a polaroid i took 11 years ago. We were visiting little prince museum until 6pm, and were struggling to find a bus that could take us to our hotel in Hakone. We decided to have our dinner here first then sort out the transport later. The dinner was spectacular and i especially loved my nabe with soymilk (11years ago). The waiter was friendly and asked us where we were from, and then came back with a mini malaysian flag they put on the table 🥹 After dinner they gave us some bookmarks and then asked us how are we getting back to the hotel. We were asking them for transport info and the owner suddenly offered to send us back to our hotel. He insisted and we gratefully accepted the offer. He shared his love of Teresa Teng music on the way, and we took a polaroid together when we reached the hotel. To be honest I don’t remember much about the whole trip but this memory is carved on my mind forever. Dear Owner, i hope you are doing well and fine and i do hope one day i get to go back to this amazing...
Read moreI visited this place two years ago, and two weeks ago. Delicious food at fantastic prices, tremendous service, and a head chef that absolutely loves a good chat. I wowed him with my atrocious Japanese skills, managed to hold his interest with my other language skills, and made good conversation for a nice long while. After enough alcohol and conversation and rain, he offered to give me a ride up to my ryokan not too far away. Maybe it was raining too much, maybe I was a bit too drunk. Either way, he remembered who I was from two years ago (!) and gave me more than a few freebies.
I love this place. I hope to visit it again next time I visit. I hope you'll love this place too, because it's just a fantastic restaurant.
Wonderful service, they love foreigners who give even the slightest bit of a care about speaking Japanese. Good prices, good selection of beers and liquor, delicious and wide-ranging menu. I'd recommend it to domestic and foreign...
Read moreThis local hang was a great way to ease into Hakone. We walked here to get lunch before check in, not expecting much. We ordered aigamo and kitsune udon, aigamo soba, and chicken neck udon. The noodles were fresh, udon with pillowy texture and soba with subtle earthy flavor and just the right amount of chew. The aigamo was smoked and fatty without feeling greasy. The chicken was tender and flavorful. The kitsune was sweet and fluffy. The side dishes were stars of their own - silken tofu rich with soybean flavor and topped with fresh miso. Everyone left happy and full bellies. This place is...
