SANFERMO PIZZA ET BBQ（サンフェルモ ピッツァ&バーベキュー） — Restaurant in Hakuba

Initially my friends and I tried ordering delivery through their website, but the website didn’t work properly where the menu only shows 4 pizzas and when you click “See more” it doesn’t show anything more and just scrolls you to the top of the page. You also can’t change the toppings when you order through delivery. So we called in and they said that we have to order takeout and come in person to order the pizzas to change the toppings. So we went to the restaurant and ordered our 5 pizzas in person and we changed toppings on two of our pizzas (asked for no egg on the sausage and mushroom pizza, and asked for no broccoli on the sausage and broccoli pizza). The order went through and we received our pizzas in about 20 minutes, but when we took our pizza back to our airbnb, it turns out that they didn’t get out order right (they put egg on the pizza that we asked not to put the egg on and they put broccoli on the pizza that we asked not to put the broccoli on; see pics). It was a hike for us to get there in the first place so we just bit the bullet and ate the pizzas. The pizzas were okay aside from the wrong topping. Super unfriendly staff, especially if you’re used to Japanese kindness. They made me order through the web even though I wanted to dine in. (Other guests were allowed to get a paper menu). Apparently I ordered the wrong pizza. I told them I wouldn’t order a salami pizza, as I’m vegetarian. There was no kind, respectful way to solve the issue. He just told me I’m unable to cancel my order and took away the wrong pizza. I had to order again, the pizza that I initially wanted. He brings back the wrong pizza into the kitchen and gets back out of the kitchen with the same exact pizza and serves it to a different group! So he just got double the cash for one pizza.

Pizza itself was one of the worst I ever had.

Some staff were friendly but majority was just bumping into you, while trying to move around the tiny seating area.

Doors were left open for staff to go in and out- it was freezing!!

Overall would never recommend this restaurant to anyone! There’s so many other good options here...

Rude lady (boss or employee i am not sure) behind the counter seats. We ordered and paid for the take out and had to wait around 40 mins. And since we were going to wait for the take out, we continued looking at the menu thinking of ordering some drinks to drink on the spot while we wait. However the lady with a black beanie (who can't speak English) snatched the menu away and chased us out.

We were shocked with such behaviour from a young Japanese service crew. Anyway another waitress who could speak English explained to us we could not order drinks if we take out.

Pizza was quite ok but don't waste your time on the buffalo chicken.

Whatever it is....just rude.
