FOUQUE — Restaurant in Hiroshima

The owner has studied for a while in Paris, hence the name. There is no regular cocktail list, only a seasonal one, because you can ask him pretty much anything. The food menu is pretty nice as well, although you should mainly come here for the drinks (the blue cheese macaroni gratin was especially nice). Now on to the drinks: all of them were excellent. The cocktails, the whiskies, the massive liquor menu (around 30 pages of whiskies, armagnacs and cognacs - my favourites). The prices are reasonable once you realize how much would the bottles actually cost you... I tasted a 2023 Akkeshi peated whisky, incredibly good. The design is really pleasing: dark, calm, calming. Don't expect to come here for partying even though there is a more isolated room for several people, that would be out of place. I totally recommend this place for anyone wanting to drink some proper cocktails, get in the world of japanese whisky, or chat with the owner or regulars. Amazing bar if you are looking for artisan cocktails! The barkeeper is not only extremely polite and serves excellent drinks, but he also prepared self made snacks, including self made chocolate truffles, which were hands down the best I tasted in my life.
