We had an outstanding stay at Hotel Intergate in Hiroshima, and it has undoubtedly earned its well-deserved 5-star rating in our book. From the moment we stepped foot into the hotel, we were greeted with warm hospitality and exceptional service that continued throughout our entire stay. The combination of top-notch service, impressive quality, and a prime location make it one of our favorite hotels.
The rooms were a true highlight of our experience, offering a perfect blend of spaciousness, modernity, and thoughtful design. The separate toilet and excellent Japanese bath were a delightful touch, providing a level of comfort and convenience that exceeded our expectations. In particular, the bath area was simply divine, featuring both a bathtub and a sitting shower section, creating an indulgent bathing experience.
Our sleep experience was equally impressive, as the beds were of superior quality, striking the ideal balance between medium stiffness and comfort. It's safe to say that we enjoyed a restful night's sleep every night, leaving us well rested.
The attention to detail within the rooms was evident, with ample table space both in the hallway beside the sink and a small table within the room.
Furthermore, we appreciated the inclusion of a coin laundry facility at the hotel. This was one of the best coin laundries we have encountered during our travels. The wash and dry combined machines saved us time and effort, eliminating the need to transfer loads between machines. Operating the machines was hassle-free, and the process took approximately 2 hours for a large load. Additionally, the reception was kind enough to exchange our currency into 100yen coins, which were accepted by the machines. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the machines automatically dispensed detergent, streamlining the laundry process.
In conclusion, our stay at Hotel Intergate in Hiroshima was nothing short of exceptional. From the well-designed rooms to the incredible Japanese bath and the comfortable beds, every aspect of the hotel exceeded our expectations. The attentive service and convenient amenities, such as the coin laundry, added to the overall positive experience. We highly recommend Hotel Intergate to anyone visiting Hiroshima and seeking a truly...
Read moreBottom line, it had a reasonably convenient location and the bed was decently comfortable so I wouldn’t avoid staying again, but it’s a pretty basic place.
We stayed in a “superior double” room and there was one of tiny window and almost no natural light which made the room feel very oppressive and not superior by any means.
Mattress is western style with springs so was more to our taste than many Japanese hotels. We slept well after requesting extra pillows.
The bathroom was the biggest issue with almost no lighting. You could not use the mirror to do makeup or really see your face at all because the light was so laughably poor. I had to shine my cell phone flashlight in my face to see anything.
Water pressure in shower was poor. The room did have a bathtub which I utilized once on a cold day, so that’s a nice to have.
The bathroom also did not have any hooks to hang up towels, which was very odd. There was a random hanger over the shower rod but we struggled to find ways to dry towels for two people. Needs hooks installed.
I did not use the public baths. There are only two laundry machines for a hotel of hundreds of rooms, so we got lucky that one was available during our stay and it worked well, but you might struggle to access one.
Amenities seem plentiful but aren’t anything to be impressed by. I took a packet of “lotion” because it was cold and dry out, and it was just a weird watery substance? They have certain times of day where you can go up to the top floor and get a snack or drink, but don’t offer any coffee in the mornings unless you pay for breakfast.
The room did have a full length mirror. No closet, only a small wall bar that could hang about 4 items. There was plenty of room to have more hooks and ability to hang things up, so the hotel should install those.
Sound isolation didn’t seem to be a problem while we were sleeping, but we very clearly heard the sound of neighboring rooms hanging items on the clothing bar, so crisply that it sounded like someone was moving our own coat hangers!
Location is convenient to the station and downtown areas, 15-20 min walking.
Would be a fine, basic traveler hotel if they install some better lighting and more hooks...
Read moreRooms and service 4 stars. The staff were good and so were the rooms, but I wouldn’t highlight anything unusually exceptional about this hotel compared to others during my Japan vacation across the country. With that said, I feel I need to highlight something important that WAS a differentiator compared to all my other visits across Japan for me (my visits included Tokyo, Kyoto, Hakone, Osaka, Ishigaki)- the lounge and complementary treats. First off, the reception and lounge area are several floors up in the building and surrounded by windows with views of the city and hills as a backdrop - already a nice view. Additionally, there are different services throughout the day which include complementary coffee as well as drinks and treats (yes, drinks include wines and bubbly). I found this to be very generous and satisfying compared to all the other hotels I visited. People seem to take this for granted and I find a lot of the locals are more critical in their reviews. Maybe we value different things but I have to say from my perspective I was VERY satisfied with these amenities, and I’m not just referring to the complementary alcohol but also the snacks which were delicious, particularly after a long day of sightseeing.
With all that said, you can expect a clean and simple room that meets all basic requirements. The location is excellent and within walking distance of key sites and transportation hubs, another plus.
I would like to thank the staff for all their efforts at excellent service and for the generous amenities. I strongly recommend the Hotel Intergate as an ideal stay during a visit...
