Out of the three Kaikatsu Clubs I visited, this one on Hondori Street was my favorite. Take my review with a grain of salt, because Iâm an American gaijin with very particular preferences for using these Internet cafes. I have my own gaming laptop so I need a spot that has the space and seating comfortable enough for long sessions. By far, this location has the best option for open seats, with huge wall partitions to keep even the open seats feeling private. The Kaikatsu around the corner only has coffee lounge style armchairs, and they were not comfortable at all for setting up my computer. Also, that other Kaikatsu was disturbingly too quiet for my tastes. You could hear somebody scratching their face, it was so silent in that space. The Hondori Street location has a decent HVAC and music ambience, so you donât feel like yer being judged for every tiny movement you make getting up out of your chair. I also really liked the private booths, and the best thing about those is that the door completely obscures the booth, no awkward knee-high gap where anybody could just sneak a look or grab any belongings close to the door. I also tried the key-lock private room on the third floor, and it was really truly private, except that the desk was about shoulder height. The recliner chair simply didnât have any height adjustment, so trying to play FPS games with mouse and keyboard on my laptop was way too uncomfortable. If you play on a game pad, however, itâs no issue. Just watch the clock though. You must be Japanese-precise in how much time you spend here. Literally one minute over and youâll have to pay the next tier of cost. Iâm not as picky as Japanese about cleanliness, but I didnât have any serious gripes, and I could see the staff constantly going about their business either cleaning booths or serving customers. If youâre a PC gamer on the go, this probably the best place in Hiroshima City Center to setup your laptop, and you can bring in food and drinks from outside. For reference, my laptop is an ASUS G14, so you can see that there is plenty of desk space in the photo of the open...
