Kanak — Restaurant in Hiroshima

Wow! This was some of the most delicious Indian food we’ve ever eaten and we’ve eaten a lot of Indian food all over the world. We ordered our personal favorite dishes but we would have loved to try them all ☺️. Here’s what we thought of each: • Butter Chicken: Addictive! Thick rich gravy with a slight sweetness • Saag Paneer: Super fresh! You could actually taste the spinach and the color was a gorgeous bright green • Channa Masala: perfectly balanced, earthy and herby • Tumeric Rice: Attractive side dish, but TBH, I think I would just stick with the basmati next time. • Garlic cheese naan: This tasted less traditional but it was still delicious- almost like a piece of pizza! • Chai: a perfect way to top of the meal

My husband and I ordered more than we could eat + a beer and all less than $30 USD.

Beware: They charge you an additional 5% of total bill if you pay by credit/debit card saying that its normal in Japan, which is not. They dont tell you upfront and only when you proceed to pay the bill they say "Sir, 5% lagega card dogey toh (behen te takkey)"

The food is OK'ish, not great, and expensive for no reason. I ordered one dal, a naan, quarter plate rice and a cup of tea. This amounted to 3400 Yens ($30) which is quite expensive compared to Indian restaurants in Hiroshima. In some restaurants, you get a full set for 1200-1400 yens which is less than half the price in this restaurant.

The waiters are always standing on your head which inhibits private communication. I have been to some other Indian restaurants in Hiroshima and both the food and ambiance have been very great.

Honestly one of the worst meals I had here mutton curry meat was so tough I could not cut with the knife garlic bread looked like garlic pizza bread and chicken pokora looking breaded chicken was so hard and tangy just didn’t look and feel like a chicken. it was so expensive as well. For one person cost me Y5,080 around over £25 in British pounds. Coca Cola was Y800 over £4.00 British pounds. More expensive than Tokyo. I don’t know how they are doing business like this with this terrible quality meats. I wouldn’t advise you to waste your money here? Because I did first time but wouldn’t happen second time. I don’t understand this people clearly we told them and showed them on the plate how the terrible meat was and he did not do anything. We are here family of 4 people only me and wife seat down here.
