Manao — Restaurant in Hiroshima

Visited this place twice in a span of one week. The food was really good. Restaurant was spacious and the ambiance was homey. On my first visit, I ordered the grilled chicken as I was really craving for it. I ordered a large serving of rice to pair it with. It was heaven! 😋😋😄 I fell in love with the sauce.

On my second visit, I came during lunch time. I tried their half&half offering and it was a good value for the money. Ordered gapao with curry noodle. It was really good. I also ordered food for take-out. Like the first time, I ordered the grilled chicken and specifically requested that the sauce be doubled as I really liked it. I was so looking forward to dinner time because of it. BUT the take-out order came with no sauce. It was frustrating, actually. 😤🤨 But oh, well.. food was good so I’m giving them a 4, even if I really want ro rate them 3. haha will surely tell the staff on my next visit that the order didn’t come...

Food was delicious and filling. The dinner set is probably the best value you can get. I ordered the Hainanese chicken rice, but it wasn't the same as what I'm used to. I prefer chicken thigh over chicken breast, and I wish they provided different dipping sauces. While everything tasted good, the Tom yum soup was way too spicy for me (but it still was tasty), and I went home with an uncomfortable feeling in my chest (probably because I accidentally choked on the soup earlier?) and I was feeling nauseous for the rest of the night.

Since I have a nut allergy, they graciously accommodated me with a different side dish that didn't...

So so so good! I had the pork fried rice and it was delicious! They have me a side of chili’s in oil and it definitely amped up the spice level.y husband had the pad Thai and he said it was good!
