The coffee itself was good, if maybe a little thin in texture for an oat milk latte. However, it wasn’t really a cafe to spend time. They only have some wooden bench seating along one side, so not really somewhere you can relax with a coffee when it’s raining. I was also a little disappointed that they asked me if it was to sit in or takeaway - I said sit in and they then served me a coffee in a takeaway cup? Despite it being a cafe that sells ceramics, and the other people sitting in all had ceramic cups. I asked and they said it was cause I ordered a large. I sat down but then decided I still really wanted a proper cup as coffee is about the experience for me - and it didn’t matter if it all fitted into the one cup. Anyways the then gave me a large cup that all of the coffee fitted into? So they did have a cup big enough, so that was even more frustrating. The needing to ask, and having to change it myself, just tainted the experience of visiting for me. Also just a note they don’t have...
Read moreWe had a filter coffee and an espresso, and the choice of beans was both overwhelming and incredible. For the filter, we chose a single origin from Ethiopia, while for the espresso we went with the autumn blend. The filter was manually prepared with great precision, perfectly timed for blooming and drawdown therefore resulting in a delicious, light-bodied cup with almost no acidity. The espresso was well balanced and a real pleasure to enjoy.
The staff was friendly and clearly passionate about making great coffee. While there were some language barriers, they handled it well. I appreciated that you pick up your own drinks, it makes everything smoother and faster.
The café itself was modern, spotless, and beautifully kept, with a stylish blend of modern and traditional Japanese design. The seating along the wall was especially comfortable for enjoying the coffee.
We didn’t try any food, and we didn’t notice Wi-Fi or...
Read moreExcellent coffee - the Tanzanian Harvest Latte was unlike anything I’d ever had before. Really strong flavors, and they served hot drinks in cute ceramics.
There’s a bathroom and indoor seating available. The seating is one long bench with several armrest-shaped table surfaces to place drinks. Good for a 1-1 chat or alone time, not ideal for a bigger group.
A lot of pottery options available, far more than the other branch I went to, I bought something to bring back. Had to admire the barista who was working on the day I went, she was very kind and patient with a man who asked a lot of questions about the pottery and asked to see a lot of the products. She wasn’t fazed or...
