This place would be my Go-to Tonkatsu Shop,
Upon arrival, we are greeted really politely by the staff, KAHO was very helpful and she assisted with explaining the dishes and the difference between the cuts. Her english was very good, and we could understand very well. We were not treated any differently from the locals or the other guests so I am not sure what the bad reviews are about.
We had the Tuna Cutlet Katsu and the “Nasukougen-Pork Fillet Cutlet” this is the Japanese Pork as opposed to the Canadian Pork that they also sell.
We also added on two pieces of the Deep Fried Prawn Tempura. Which I highly recommend you do IF you do not get the set with the prawn in it.
The Prawn was huge and the batter was thinly coated with was good.
The fried dishes, were not too oily, and superbly prepared.
The pork was not chewy, very tender and juicy. One of the best i have tasted in Japan.
The tuna though, wow, it was amazing. I’ll come back just to have the Tuna Cutlet Katsu, that was probably the highlight although it was my partner’s item. Highly recommended.
The miso soup had a special item inside that no other shops include, and i’ll have to leave the mystery for you to find out yourself.
Try this. You will not regret it.

Read moreA wonderful tonkatsu restaurant that opens relatively late (10 pm) compared to other restaurants in the area, the quality of ingredients, ambience, and ship in preparation are well worth the visit. The Kirishima Black Pork is flavourful and nearly melts in your mouth, with a perfectly light and crispy panko crust. Both cabbage salad dressings, one unusually based on blood oranges (whose flavor can be overwhelming when eating the fruit directly, but in the dressing pleasantly light, citrusy, and mildly sweet) and the more traditional vinegar and garlic (this one beautifully rich compared to other vinegar baseddressings in Japan) will vy to be your favorite. The clam miso soup is a nice compliment to the katsu, and the tsukemono picked vegetables are tangy to cleanse the palete. And the potato salad with mentaiko was a great started. Definitely a must try restaurant...

Food was amazing and tuna katsu was soft and tender. Batter is light and flaky, not oily at all. Pork loin was juicy thought slightly tough (and appeared slightly raw at some parts). Wanted to try their miso potato croquette and fried shrimp tempura but sadly they got our order wrong. Expect a long wait for the food (about 30 mins). A decent experience overall if you’re not rushed for time and tuna katsu is definitely recommended if the menu is...
