Worst experience I ever had in Japan or anywhere else. A dirty and definitely overhyped place with bland food and an awkward atmosphere. We went there for the good reviews, but we were totally disappointed. I wonder how this place got so many good reviews? The service was slow, disorganized, unpolite, and unprofessional. We were not allowed to choose where to sit, even though the place was empty when we arrived and remained half-empty during our stay. But the worst things are the unhygienic conditions and the uncomfortable atmosphere. The cook always had his phone in his hands, checking songs while cooking, handling the food while constantly touching his cell phone. That's not precisely hygienic or professional. The kitchen was messy, dirty, and looked unprofessional. Also, the cook was constantly chatting and making everybody feel uncomfortable with his weird attitude. Nobody was comfortable, some people had to wait very long before being served, and everybody left quickly after finishing their meal. The food was very bland, with no taste, no spiciness, and the portions were tiny (definitely not American style). I suggest the cook should focus more on cooking, less on chatting, less on checking his phone, and less on offending people who write bad reviews. Also, why is beer served in a plastic cup? What the hell? Why is a place like...
Read moreTraveled halfway across the world to meet the guy in the famous video. Arrived at opening time on a rainy day and got greeted warmly by the owner Dylan. I had the two chicken tacos. The tacos were well-cooked, very savory and, coming from someone who lives in Arizona and tried the eastern US "Mexican" restaurants, they tasted just like the authentic Mexican food back home (granted, I asked for them without tomatoes but still)! As I was the only one in the restaurant Dylan and I struck up a conversation. I told him how I was fascinated by the famous video and how I had got my family and friends just as interested in the video to the point that they made me buy a shirt for them. He was honored. In total, I estimate I only spent around 30 minutes here but I did find it the main highlight of my Enoshima trip. It is a small restaurant tucked away in the second story of a building and very easy to miss so make sure you get here early, I was the only customer inside the whole time, possibly because it was raining, but I'm guessing on busier days it gets far more popular. Overall a great restaurant and five stars. Portions are a bit small but the restaurant makes up for this in the charm. Dylan "Bicycle Bro/Niki" is a super cool guy. Make sure to get a photo with him for...
Read moreThe atmosphere is the only nice thing about it. The place is nicely designed and looks good. The food itself is just average, I can’t understand why it has such a high rating! I guess most people never tried really good Mexican food! The food portions are just a robbery. Like baby sized food. Me and my wife went for lunch and spent 5,000-6,000¥ but we were not even half full! We left the restaurant looking for something to eat. And we are not big eaters, just average. The staff were not rude but they did not have the traditional “omotenashi” of Japan. It seemed like the owners of the place hated each other and when they dealt with us it kind of spilled on us, this hate. We had a 2 years old child, and although they are not required to do anything, but just out of curtesy they should bring child plates or spoons or even a small drink with a straw. Which did not happen, everything we asked for we paid for basically. Which is fine but strengthens the feeling that we won’t be going there again. I would never go back there. To be fair, we went there a year ago, so I don’t know if they have changed their...
