We visited Nagisano Wood-Fried Hamburger in Kanagawa, and it was honestly one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had in Japan!
The staff spoke only a little English, but they went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. They explained how the food is prepared, walked us through the process, and even showed us parts of the kitchen. Their effort and hospitality were truly heartwarming.
We ordered so much — basically half of the menu — and every single dish was outstanding. The beef was the best I have ever tasted in my life, cooked to absolute perfection. We spent the entire evening there, enjoying delicious food, chatting, sipping on fantastic custom-made cocktails, and having casual small conversations with the staff throughout the night.
This was a 10/10 experience. In fact, we even considered traveling there again from Tokyo just to relive it — it’s absolutely worth it. If I could give more than 5 stars, I definitely would. This place is a true hidden gem, and I would love for more people to discover and enjoy it...
Read moreStumbled across this restaurant during the day and saw they did wood fired burgers and knew we had to come back for dinner. Didn't disappoint! Delicious cold drinks, juicy burgers, amazing entrees in a lovely dining room with fabulous cutlery, with Billy Joel on high rotation. We chose the seasonal vegetables which had a marvellous char, exceptionally cooked. The shoestring chips were nice, and they went well with the whitebait and potato gratin which was absolutely delicious, perfectly seasoned and with a dreamy wasabi mayo. The cheeseburger was perfectly juicy, clearly using high quality ingredients although be aware it is not a big portion (the vegetable crisps are not many). To top off, we had the soft serve with caramel which was so satisfying. To the Aussies, it was like the best Maccas soft serve with liquid Werthers Original - divine. Highly recommend this...
Read moreNagisa No Burger opened in Kamakura last December as the sister restaurant to the renowned Kinon Kamakura, a four-time consecutive winner of three toques in the prestigious Gault & Millau Japan. Their Lunch Set is a fantastic way to experience their signature wood-fired burgers, with a subtle smoky aroma infused into the juicy patties.
We tried the Trial Cheeseburger, a classic highlighting the rich flavours of the bun and patty, topped with cheddar cheese, and the Wood-Fired Teriyaki Chicken Burger, featuring tender flame-grilled chicken with a generous helping of chimichurri sauce and their homemade sweet-savoury teriyaki glaze.
The set also includes a Kamakura vegetable mini salad, Kamakura vegetable chips, smoked soft-serve ice cream, and a drink of your choice—an incredible value for the quality. Highly recommended for burger lovers visiting...
