We came to this cafe wanting to eat pudding and cheesecake with high expectation But to our surprise, it turned out to be the worst dining experience we've had in Japan
When we walked in, there were only two or three customers in the cafe We gestured to the server that there were two of us, intending to find a seat The owner said we had to order first We initially ordered two desserts After we placed the order, the owner said we had to order at least one more drink for each person in order to dine in But since we were already a bit full and couldn't drink anymore, we had no choice but to get the desserts as takeout The weather was very hot at the time, and there were only a few customers in the cafe But the owner insisted on not letting us wait inside, and chased us out to wait for the takeout outside We ordered the ice cream pudding, but the ice cream melted quickly After we picked up the desserts, we found a spot outside to stand and eat Then after a while, the owner came out and told us that the spot we were standing in was also considered part of the store's outdoor area, and that we had to go even further away to eat This was truly outrageous The owner is the worst person I've encountered in Japan Even though we didn't dine in, but just ordered takeout, we were still customers who should have been treated with basic respect and courtesy Not being allowed to sit inside even many seats available Not being allowed to wait inside for the takeout And not even being allowed to stand outside to eat the melting ice cream dessert
We came with high expectations But ended up being mistreated over and over again This is a very poor restaurant, I absolutely do not recommend it If you come here, you'll just end up...
Read moreWe recently moved to Kamakura from Norway and were excited to find a coffee shop that sells beans from La Cabra and Prolog, which we love from our time in Copenhagen. We visited right away and felt so welcomed, even though we don't speak much Japanese and the owner speaks only a little English.
The shop is run by a friendly couple. The husband knows a lot about coffee, and it's some of the best we've had in Japan. The wife makes delicious desserts( the cheesecake and pudding must try!!), you can tell they put a lot of love into their work. I’m especially sad that the chocolate terrine was a limited-time dessert—it was amazing😭
This coffee shop is one of our favorite spots in Kamakura.❤️...
Read moreCoffee was good, but they have policy that everyone needs to order something, so don't recommend going with friends, as they would be asked to wait outside then or need to order sth even if your friends would order few things, the staff was rude as they were gossiping about us in Japanese, thinking we don't know basic words and the fact one of Japanese friends was with us,...
