Verve is a specialty coffee roaster from California. They also have five shops in Japan: three in Tokyo and two in Kamakura. The one is central Kamakura is modern, spacious and inviting. When we visited, six of their roasts were available for pour-over, five of them single origins. You can even try them before you order. I found the flavor differences rather subtle; all of them tasted slightly overextracted and had a somewhat bitter, dry finish. The washed Kenyan I eventually went for was nonetheless a pleasant cup. They also have teas, cold brew and espresso-based drinks (e.g. cappuccino, rosemary honey latte, espresso tonic). The food menu comprises sandwiches, waffles, cakes and more. We had the grilled cheese and red hot tuna sandwiches—both were great! (We would have liked to try the pastrami avocado sandwich, but they had run out of it.)

Really great place to get sandwiches and food that you may recognize with the Japanese twist. The staff don’t speak great English, but that’s okay, just use Google Translate and show them what you want. I wanted to get Valencia latte but I needed some edits so I just put it in Google Translate and they made it amazing. The food is also really good and it feels really fresh. The music is really great and there’s lots of open seating for singles or group people. It’s a great location 24 minutes away from Kamakura. And service was fast. Probably 10 minutes between ordering and getting food. Reasonably priced. This is more of a coffee shop with a few food items. There are options for vegetarians, but not necessarily vegans.

A fantastic open space more in keeping with their original Santa Cruz location. Unlike the more central, and often crowded, Shinjuku location, the Kamakura shop has plenty of seating space with ample tables to sit at and work. The coffee quality is in keeping with their other location, which is to say extremely good. The service is attentive and personal, they even commented on my Verve tshirt. Like their Shinjuku location, this shop is VERY central which means it does get quite busy and there is a bit of a wait. Take a peek inside if you're in a hurry. All in all it's a great coffee shop offering a really cozy sit-down experience combined with great Third-Wave coffee.

📣Tip: get a menu from the counter and grab a seat first. Once you know what you want left your stuff at the table then go order at the counter. This location is big but lots of people are just hanging out so finding a table is difficult. Usually the outside seats are free because there isn't a nice view or the weather is too hot. Get the fruit cold Brew, it's yuzu syrup with Cold Brew. A really relaxing café with vegan and vegetarian options. So many drinks with vegetable milk available with no extra charge for the substitution. Fun and original options, so delicious! The sandwiches are very nice. Surprising flavors and well cooked, served at the perfect point. The staff is very helpful and kind. Very nice music too!

Ooo. Come here and try their seasonal coffee specials! I had their rosemary and honey latte 😍 is was so delicious. This place is spacious given the location in Kamakura. Good spot to meet up with friends. Had no problem bringing my stroller in here. There is no baby changing station in the bathroom tho. That would have been nice.
