Taverna Gappa delivered an unforgettable dining experience during my visit on their last day of work for the year before closing for the year-end holidays. This added a unique charm to the evening, as it felt like we were sharing a special moment with the restaurant and its team.

The meal started with an antipasto misto that immediately transported me back to my years in Italy—it was authentic, flavorful, and masterfully prepared. The primo consisted of two different pasta dishes, both capturing the essence of Italian culinary tradition with fresh, vibrant ingredients and perfectly executed techniques.

The following courses were equally remarkable: a delicately prepared fish dish and a rich, tender meat course that showcased the chef’s versatility. To finish, the dessert was a sweet finale that brought the meal to a satisfying close. Each course was paired with an excellent wine, enhancing the flavors and creating a truly harmonious dining experience.

Having lived in Italy for eight years, I deeply appreciated the authenticity and passion behind each dish. Taverna Gappa is a rare gem that brings a piece of Italy to Kanazawa. Spacious and comfortable restaurant having only 4 tables on the floor. We loved the relaxing atmosphere with music one the background. All dishes were skillfully and carefully prepared and were really mouthwatering and wholesome. Four of us ended up ordering a whole lot of dishes and enjoyed them all. My personal favourite was a pasta dish with beef bolognese sauce. Prices were very reasonable for the quality of the entire experience. A must...
