Booked a tea ceremony experience and it was such a peaceful and wonderful experience. Ran late as we went in the wrong direction of the teahouse, but Eriko was so kind and accommodated us anyway despite our lateness. She spent extra time explaining and answering our questions and, because it was just my friend and I, we basically got a private tea ceremony experience! I'm so glad to have booked my 1st tea ceremony experience here and I'd highly recommend it. Pre-booking through their website is easy. Eriko speaks such fluent English it was an easy and comfortable experience. Also bought some of their matcha, but because the kind I wanted was low in stock, she generously added another type to make up for it. I'm a bit of a tea enthusiast and this is definitely going to be one of the more memorable tea houses I've been to. I stopped by a few times for their loose leaf tea, tea room, and tea ceremony and had a really great experience there. I was very happy to see the variety and quality of teas they offered. I'd recommend the Japanese oolongs as those were pretty unique. The gyukuro was also very good.

The tea ceremony was also really neat in that they have a stone mill so you can grind your own matcha powder from the tea leaves.

We booked a tea ceremony in advance with Eriko and the tea master. Eriko is a fantastic host, she was incredibly friendly and interesting, and the tea ceremony felt very authentic and personalised.

Eriko taught us about how the room is decorated and how utensils are chosen for the tea ceremony, as well as how to take part in the ceremony. First, we got to take part in a tea ceremony with Eriko and the tea master, and then we had an opportunity to grind our own matcha powder and make a bowl of matcha tea ourselves afterwards.
