Oriental Brewing has a very convenient location, just in front of Kanazawa Geisha District.
Beers list is appropriately varied with a good selection of different brews. Ambient is cozy and atmosphere feels just right.
However, our experience in Oriental Brewing was far from recommended and unfortunately this is related to service received. Waiter was incredible rude, specially compared to Japanese culture, where we have being enjoying trully lovely hosts...as he did not even bother to say hi or to look at us when we sat down just 15 cm away from his face in the bar from the local.
Additionally, we had some questions about the different brews ( kind of normal in a brewery with several options), but when we tried to approach him, he just refered to the QR note from which you are supposed to use for asking an order. He did not want to approach us, neither was willing to suggest us anything. Bar was not crowded at all so it was not because he was on a rush. I had to ask through the QR system guessing what beer I would like.
For my surprise, just 5 minutes later, he was very willing to take note from another random person that entered the local. Kind of sad.
I just hope this review helps the bar to provide better service, as I think overall experience for a brewery should be better, when you have this kind of product and awesome...
Read moreThis is quite the nice place, baby! Their garlic and pepper pizza is quite... Garlicky, if you shee what I mean! This all so happened because of the success of this Coppola retro movie from the 90s, Dracula, you know? It became most obvious to Japanese people that the yen crash was but a joke, in comparison. And so, their starlet of a pizza was created as a culinary bio weapon against those darn leeches! There is enough garlic love in there to wipe the undead shit out of half a dozen of vampire creeps indeed, if you feel my vibes. The place looks wonderful on a rainy such as today, where I am but the ghost of their usual clientele, their past glory being but a specter of their corrupted, fallen glory... The only customer onboard, yikes?! But I'm having this fantastic time with your eyes and brains, as you read this now, my schweet little one, so what are you waiting for? Come over already and just pound the delicious meat of that pizza while savouring a crafted beer like you mean it, silly! Itadakimasutra, your tongue executing arousing, exuberant, suggestive postures on the dance floor of this pizza planet you were born to claim, you big boy, you queen of the night and ecstasy! Ciao ciao bello and bella,...
Read moreWent around noon as a group of 4 - three North American tourists and one Japanese tour guide - during the summer month of July. Location is accessable and within walking distance of the Asano River (I know this because it was brutally hot and that river probably saved my life multiple times) The staff is very friendly and speaks English quite well. This micro-brewery has a selection of about 8 craft beers, each different in its own way, so 2 servings of the tasting sets allowed us to enjoy all 8 beers. Food is also available, including pizza made to order, and is acceptable. The beer options are truly the strong point and the main reason to visit. Overall, the location is very tourist friendly and recommended. Just don't go expecting to eat a tasty lunch or dinner. Go expecting a tasty drinking experience with some food to reset the palate between your drinks - which may end up leaving...
