Popped by Kanazawa for a day, decided to randomly dine at an Italian restaurant, so we picked Aipini.
The food from start to end, is a masterful execution of the chef’s craft, leaving one in huge anticipation of the next course.
Started off with the beef stew and ham & cream cheese bruschetta. Absolutely nailed it.
Next is the bolognese rigatoni, which was cooked to perfection. Each pasta coated in the delicious meat sauce.
The pasta was so good, that we decided to add another order - the carbonara gnocchi. Traditional carbonara recipe done right, would have made any Italian proud. Rich, creamy, and flavorful.
Next is the cod and shirako (which is fish sperm) meuniere. This is just out of this world. First timers who havent eaten fish sperm, please dont be afraid to try this dish. Italian cooking, with local Japanese ingredients, resulting in an innovative dish that is worth just going back for again.
Dessert was a tiramisu which is a sweet ending to a perfect meal.
Food being amazing is one thing, but what really made my night was the service by the chef. It was raining rather heavily suddenly when we were leaving but the chef realised we did not came with an umbrella. So I wanted to cross the street to the familymart to get an umbrella. However, the kind chef insisted on giving us a spare one instead.

My girlfriend and I needed a spot to eat after getting into our hotel late. They only had a Japanese menu but with google translate it was so easy. The food was actually amazing. Considering the good price as well we were extremely surprised at the quality. We live in NYC and regularly go out for Italian, and the rigatoni + carbonara we ordered here compared very well to some of our favorite restaurants. I would recommend for the food!...
Read more此の店は、アノ〜カンパーニュグループの店でしょうかね〜堀氏がまた頑張って店を展開したのか。と〜昔、ちょっと縁があり良く里見町に有ったカンパーニュには良く利用させて頂きました。其の時とは趣が少し違いイタリアンと言う拠りはスペイン風かなぁ〜此の現在の店にはまだ一度も入ったことが無いが、片町の店は開店当初に2~3度行きました。写真で見る限り今の若い人向けの料理内容みたいで中々凝らしたモノが窺えますねぇ。里見町時代の話をちょっとすると堀氏は勿論カウンター内で腕を奮っていたのですが、当然〜メニュー以外に今日のちょっとしたアレンジメントなものを頼むとさっと仕上げたり中々センスが窺えたものでした。一度私と一緒にとあるバーで酒をのみワイン談義に花を咲かせた事などもあり、ワインには当時から並々ならぬ関心をもっていらっしゃった事が懐かしく思い出されます。 私は当時〜40台半ば〜ワインの商いモルテ片手間にやってワイン会を月一以上にやっていたり、勿論カンパーニュでも何度かやらせて貰いましたが、それ以上に若い人たちにワインの面白さなどを説明する場を色々なバーや日本料理の店やらホテルを会場に様々なワインと料理を皆さんに楽しんで貰ったモノで、今はもう〜つい最近までエノテカのソムリエ達のみを集めた会をやって来たのですが、年ですから引退をしてますが、いつかまた堀氏とも会える日を楽しみにカンパーニュ料理を懐かしく...
