By far one of my favorite stays in my month-long trip to Japan. everything about this hotel screams perfection & excellence (at least so far). The front desk staff are really knowledgeable and friendly, and always ready to serve with a smile. For instance, I actually misplaced my device the night before in another hotel. One of their friendly front desk staff actually helped me contact and reach out to help me get my device back - she was incredibly patient and went the mile to try and communicate and assure me that it will be alright, as she has managed to arrange to have it picked up and delivered to the hotel. IMO this is beyond what I'd have expected.
Room wise, they are incredibly thoughtful in their room design - bed generally faces away from the window and be warm and toasty, room has another door that you can close for added privacy , counters be really modern and sleek. The toilet and bath room in general, while apparently standard sized, feels a little more spacious than it is , and is well upkept and modern. I particularly love the sofa beside the window, which makes for a perfect spot to do work, read, chill, etc. the TV contains myriad useful information to help you enjoy your stay (extremely privately too) - tells you whether the public bath is occupied (fairly accurately), which laundro to use (or how long left & at which cycle, if you are using), and so on. The only thing is that it's almost entirely in Japanese, but that's really minor.
During my stay, I also used the public bath and the washing machine/laundry section - IMO they are incredibly updated and high tech, and generally easy to access/use. Corridors also generally kept at a comfortable temperature and well lit.
Location wise, they are a mere 3-5 min walk from Kanazawa station, and is well connected to many places (you can technically walk to the typical tourist spots with a little effort), WHILE somehow keeping things nice and private.
Overall, I do look forward to visit Kanazawa again just to stay in this specific hotel. would totally recommend it to other solo...
Read moreIt is the second time in 2024 to visit Kanazawa. The hotel is not big and not easy to find the entrance but cleaning with spacious room. We lived in Onyado hot spring hotel ,then transfer to this. So we two came here at 10:00am ,Aug-22nd to put the luggage ,then was told the checking in time is 3:00pm,and I confirmed again if I can check in early ,then again, exactly at 3:00pm!!I came back at 2:00pm to wait for the checking in ,and of course I’m the first one and ONLY person sitting in the lobby with the same clothes waiting for the checking in time since I’m in Japan ,it is better to show my respect to local culture and obey the local rules. WAITING IN ORDER AND BE POLITE. At least two reception ladies saw me for several times during my waiting in the sofa, and the reception DEST is almost opposite to the waiting area, but no one came close to me and tell me I can check in early. At 2:30 pm,some Japanese guests were signing at the reception desk,I guess they were checking in ,but since I don’t know Japanese language,I’m not sure of that. At the same time , one reception lady came to the family (not from Asia) sitting after me and warmly invited them in English to check in early. Since they speak English,I know everything at this moment. From 2:00pm to 2:30 ,even the reception lady came to the family and I was just nearby ,No one say one word or even eye contact to me to instruct me that I can check in in advance and absolutely have the priority to checking in among these guests .if the early check is allowable ,at least they should have let me know,or when they invited and notified others ,at least they should have done the same to me,I was at the same waiting area.So angry and unsatisfied with this service experience. It is so rude for me. Unfortunately,my wife booked three nights ,non...
Read moreI would rate Hotel Torifito 1000/10 because its location is very strategic. When you exit Kanazawa Gate, take right side there is traffice light, cross the street, turn right again, and walk around 2 minutes Hotel Torifito will be on your right. I was originally planning to leave my luggage at Kanazawa Station to continue my trip to Shirakawago, but I was informed that the hotel was very close, only a 5-minute walk away. After returning from Shirakawago and having dinner, we checked in and were treated very well. We were even informed about the amenities in the lobby and were offered bath salts for soaking. The room was just as shown in the pictures, with the bathroom (bathtub) and toilet separated. There were three beds, comfortable beds (firm) with a desk and vanity in the middle. Pajamas and bags (for onsen use) were provided for each bed. The room also had a hairdryer and curling iron from Refa brand, which was super cool! The TV also showed information about the onsen, like whether it was busy, crowded, or quiet. Unfortunately, we didn’t enjoy the onsen because it was very crowded at night, and in the morning, we had to hurry for breakfast before heading to Kyoto. The breakfast was AMAZING, with fresh sushi, chicken curry, sausages, eggs, oden… the breakfast was so complete, with fruit, bread, dessert, and everything tasted delicious. Especially the homemade almond tofu – it was the best! Going back… don’t ask! If I have the chance, I would definitely come back and stay longer, not just for a transit. Thanks to all the hotel employees – your service was...
