Bar W【ダブル】 — Restaurant in Kanazawa

A wonderful little bar near the Higashi Chayagai area of Kanazawa that is run by a friendly, sweet owner. She recently opened Bar W in September 2024 and fills the niche for people who are looking for a more intimate space serving craft liquor and upscale hors d’oeuvres. We had a lovely time. My brother got the Kanazawa beer, i got the gin flight, my husband got the whiskey flight (local whiskey was great). We all got a round of sake. My sister in law got a local yuzu soda. The appetizer was good! The owner was very polite, knowledgeable about her craft, and friendly. She explained the local liquors and helped us to make dinner reservations....

Chisa is the perfect hostess of her small, tastefully decorated Bar W. I tried her sparkling wine, top shelf tequila and a chocolate dessert. She was really fun, welcoming, chatty and gave me some other amazing local recommendations. It's on the main road but quiet, right on the edge of the old Higashiyama district so easy to find.
