Danshaku — Restaurant in Kanazawa

Would give 6 stars if it was possible! It’s not only the delicious steak, it’s the whole experience.

From the outside it’s looking like a small house, when you get in you will meet two super friendly hosts. They have this restaurant for a long long time together. You will see a real samurai uniform and some pictures of the owners and their family. Beautiful piece of history.

The food was really good! You will receive a starter and after a steak of choice. I chose Noto beef (one is the local from Kanazawa) I really recommend this!!! It really melts into your mouth, very tasteful! After you will receive a miso and rice.

But then the magic happens! One of the chef is also really creative. He is working like an artist, and makes origami special for you to take home. We received a bag with original handcraft of beautiful art. With a paper cutting placemat, chopstick rest, placemat and an original bag.

I really would recommend this restaurant for everyone who is in for a good steak and a unique experience. This place deserves the best reviews in town! I really hope to come back once!

What a beautiful...

The space was so unique. It looked like someone’s home and it had photos and the coolest part was the relic of samurai armor on display. It was actually used in war, the owner is a descendant of a samurai.

The guy who served us today made our day. He said he worked there for 48 years- and he was happy to be working where he was born and raised, and he loved Kanazawa. There was no one else besides us in the restaurant and he made a great memory for us that we will remember. He made an attempt to talk to us with google, cooked our food, serviced us, and even left us a handmade gift at the end. It was so special. I hope to have the passion and dedication to my profession like he does. I felt honored to have a meal made by someone who has done this for so long.

I don’t have enough good things to say about this place! To start, the Noto steak was unlike anything we’ve ever had before and absolutely melts in your mouth. The appetizers before were incredibly fresh, and the dessert afterwards was presented beautifully. But, where this place really stands out is with their service. The owner and the chef went above and beyond to make our evening special, especially after learning that we were on our honeymoon. The dinner atmosphere was made more romantic with a flower between the two of us, and we were sent home with a number of different gifts, all handmade by the chef himself, including one that was made right there in front of us!
